Wendy's — Restaurant in Ottawa

It is seriously so frustrating when you spend money on something as simple as a salad and you get the stuff that should be fed to someone's pet rabbit or thrown in the compost. I always really enjoy the IDEA of their Southwest Avocado Chicken Salad but am usually disappointed by wilted or moldy lettuce, chunks of the lettuce core or tomatoes that appear to have been frozen and thawed at some point or are well past their best before date. I always desperately want the salad to be tasty, delicious, and problem free but alas it's never to be. The other reason I have this visit only 1 star is due to the non English speaking employee who was manning the drive-thru speaker. I am generally a patient person but I'm also hard of hearing so ppl who mutter, mumble, or don't enunciate are very difficult for me to understand particularly if they are ESL. This person was SUPER rude when I asked them to repeat themselves several times even after I explained that I was hard of hearing and was having difficulties understanding them. I was very polite about it bc I've been the target of many bigots and didn't want to be labeled as such. This woman didn't care how polite I was. I finally just asked to speak with someone else and went on my merry way. That's when I got home and discovered the stumpy salad with watery tomatoes......

Recent problems addressed AND fixed. ALL good now and great as it used to be. Sigh... of relief.

1 month ago - 5 stars Hands down, the BEST Breakfast Sandwich combo ANYWHERE! I love that they use Swiss cheese and NOT that plastic orange lard artery blocking garbage that everyone else uses. Combo comes with seasoned potato wedges (yay!) and their coffee IS great. Their "small" size (?) coffee equals large sizes at other places. Plus it's a satisfying meal. I couldn't handle two. I never go anywhere else for breakfast now... and if you haven't had their breakfast, you ARE missing out.

Breakfast or dinner, I've always found their drivethru staff friendly AND patient (as I have dietary needs when ordering). They LISTEN and deliver what I order... all given with politeness and NO attitude (like far too many of "those" other places).

Good food, great value AND personable staff! What else could one ask for? Sure they might be quicker BUT quality and dedication to custom orders takes time. You want fast, garbage food, tasteless fries and inefficient surly staff? You know where to go... THIS is not that place imho.

It’s been a long time since I ate at a Wendy’s, since I live on the Québec side Wendy’s do not exist their and I have to visit Ontario to cherish this awesome fast food restaurant. Since I work close to it now, I decided on this day I decided to try it for breakfast and found that it was delicious and as good as I remember, they have a 4$ breakfast menu and ordered the potatoes (which are freaking awesome) and a wrap (which was also freaking awesome.

The place was pretty clean, but I did go in the morning so maybe that’s the reason why. The condiment counter was also very clean and organized and the soft drink machine offers a various cornucopia of drinks to chose from (why don’t they have these machines everywhere?).

For the moment I will give it 5 stars and we will see as it goes along if it drops, since I have to see during lunch hours if the place is still clean, the hospitality of the staff as well as the rapidity of the service… stay tuned for more.
