1827 Wine and Cheese Lounge — Restaurant in Perth

Great new place in Perth. As you walk in, jazz and a modern interior welcome you. The menu is focussed yet offers enough options. My wife had a cocktail which she found amazingly good, and I was spoilt for choice in the selection of wines. As a starter, I had the gazpacho. It was great and as good as any I have had in Andalucia, Spain, where this soup is a local delicacy. The rich choice of cheeses is the focus of the main menu. We had raclette and loved it. My wife found the portion a good size whilst I could have eaten a tad more. A good cheese platter as dessert was a nice finish. You can pick any cheese on the menu, not just the ones mentioned in the dessert section. That wasn't clear at first. This classy place has a good vibe to it and we will definitely return. Generally have had a good to great experience here, but was very disappointed by meal and service this past Friday evening ( March 15th). I had the salmon and lentils and my partner had the pizza. Pizza was good as always but salmon and lentils were very disappointing. We arrived about 8 pm and it was clear the food had been cooked earlier and held in a warming pan. Lentils were mushy and barely warm. The salmon was dry ( the end was burned) and barely warm. All served on a super small plate with no veggie for $26. The server didn't check in with us...and apparently didn't notice the burned end when serving or clearing. Ordered a cappuccino...waited 10 minutes ( place was pretty empty)...followed up with the server and cancelled. Then we were informed the cappuccino machine wasn't working.

This is an update a bit in the making, unfortunatly have been busy. Long story short my wife and I had a bad experience at the 1827 Wine and Cheese Lounge, after making it aware that this happened via google review, Meredith and her team reached out to us and offered us a night out at the restaurant which we declined, she then offered us a token of her apology and made things right with a free chacuterie board. I hope the experience was a one of occurrence but in the end it was made right as we enjoyed the offerings with some board games and smiles.
