Light House Lounge & Grill — Restaurant in Peterborough

Worst service ever. Went there on Canada Day with my hubby and two others. First thing we did was order a round of ice water because it was hot.. The server brought one glass. After getting her attention. Several times for the next 40 minutes saying we needed more ice water finally got three empty glasses. And -a pitcher of water. No ice. We asked for ice and then ordered our meal and drinks. Almost an hour after sitting there we finally got one glass full of ice.yes a glass of ice. Our drinks came after 45 minutes of being there but only three of them. The fourth came a half hour later. When the server brought my husbands red wine she spilled the entire glass on him. Then the couple next to us she did the same thing and spilled his red wine but like really nailed him. The the appetizers. We bought it we’re disgusting nothing but frozen mozzarella sticks, frozen whatever that was deep fried nothing was fresh nothing was fresh made.

After being brought the entire bill without a discount, I went to speak to the owner. I stood inside, were only staff was and was completely ignored for over 10 minutes, including by the owner. Who admitted to seeing me there. It wasn’t until after I finally called someone aside and said I need to speak to the owner that I got any attention. It turned out the server had not even told the owner that she had spilled wine on two patrons it was an absolute joke. The whole visit was an absolute joke, an appetizer, and one round of drinks should not have taken over two hours.. the owner gave us our meal and drinks for free but ultimately the entire blame is on the owner. She was the only cook in the kitchen on a busy day when she should have been out making sure The restaurant was running, as it should be making sure her customers were being taken care of properly. Never ever will I ever recommend this place or...

Don't eat here. We arrived to eat and try this place out. Only to be greeted by a group of ladies sitting on their cell phones.(They were the servers) They gave us the direction to sit where we wanted to and only after my wife went to see what was taking our greeter to come to the table did we get service. We listened to the group of servers gossiping about customers for the location. Much of what was said is not something you need to hear as you eat. The food we ordered was the fish and chips with coleslaw. Maybe 5 minutes after we ordered the food, we were both surprised. The coleslaw was missing, so we had to call our server back. When we asked for the coleslaw she went back only to quickly return and say that they were out. They offered garden salad or watermelon to replace it. The garden salad my wife received didn't even come with dressing. The fries tasted like they had been sitting a while and then microwaved before they were brought out. I threw a fry down into the water to a duck it initially began eating it but then quickly stopped because it was that overcooked. We tried to pay with cash but apparently they didn't have enough on hand to give us change. We didn't tip, all the servers cared more about gossiping than actually doing their job. The location was nice...

Light House, right by the Marina, is run by Jack's Restaurant, you can almost see the Peterborough location from here! After serious problems with the Lakefield location to get a 5 is a real achievement. Nothing was complicated but everything was right! D and I are overly careful regarding chef and waitress so we were delighted by the service from Theresa and efforts of our chef, Amilijana. D and I were pleased to hear these folks will be in Jack's Peterborough at the end of summer. We wished we had arrived a little later to enjoy the singer, maybe next weekend. Open from 11 to 9 every day!!

(June 2022) Still the Lighthouse but with a new owner, Amilijana! Congrats, you are such a hard worker. Hannah is a wonderful young woman who runs the front of the restaurant. They just have everything in place so please drop in to support these two talented women. I believe they are considering opening for breakfast ... this would be amazing as they always do awesome breakfasts. Way to go ladies, great views over the waters' edge. You won't regret giving this place a try.
