Vik's Burgers — Restaurant in Peterborough

Vik’s Bistro is my favourite place in Peterborough! Excellent service, food, and pricing. Vik and his staff are lovely! We are repeating customers who often show up for their divine breakfast selection. Today we went for lunch, and we had a ham sandwich with salad, and a chicken and bacon wrap with an absolutely scrumptious cream of broccoli soup as a side. Vik’s Bistro is the perfect place to stop in on the way to or from the PTBO Music Fest this summer. Parking behind the Bistro along with being very central! It is always a pleasure to visit! :)

Google is only letting me update my review, but as always 5 STARS!! My boyfriend had the spicy chicken poutine and I went with Vik’s cajun fries and chicken strips. My boyfriend’s review on the poutine was along the lines of: “with every bite, there was so much flavour and never an absence of deliciousness”. He told me that it was made to perfection, as he requested a scrambled egg to accompany the contents of the dish. He ordered a beer as well… always a wonderful bonus when restaurants are LLBO certified! As for my dish, the cajun fries were wonderful— thoughtfully spiced! Vik truly knows how to nail that perfect cajun flavour in his kitchen. Unlike most restaurants, the classic ‘chicken fingers and fries’ dish is done differently at Vik’s Lake & George Bistro. You aren’t being served your average chain restaurant crunchy-like-a-rock strips of chicken. Vik seasons the batter in house and strips the chicken into the perfect sized pieces for dipping in your sauce. All round, the food is totally delightful (as always!).

Horrible service. Horrible food. An embarrassment on the Peterborough food industry. I had a cheese burger with fries. Burger was disgusting over sauced with I don't even know what disgusting fatty sauce I scraped off. Fries were soggy and undercooked. Disgusting. I had the potato soup and was WILDLY disappointed in paying 8.99 for 1/2 a cup of soup that tasted old and had film on it. My partner had the poutine and has been throwing up for the last hour after only having a couple bites. Also learn what spicy chicken poutine means, it's not curry it's SPICY CHICKEN and if it is curry maybe you should show it as such??? Add another restaurant that makes sub par food for a ridiculous price. Seems to be the new theme these days. Id pay maybe 30$ for all of it (and that's being generous) and it came to 60 with tax. Horrible restaurant will never go to or order from. I wouldn't doubt their food is frozen as they've never had anything fresh gone through those doors unless it's alive.
