EARNED THIS REVIEW...
Well, the pleasant girls at the store asked us if we would “let them know how we liked the food with an online review” as we were leaving with our take out order. I was excited on the way home thinking how good the food must be if they are bold enough to request a review before we have even tasted a bite. Surely, they must have had some indication through previous experience that the food was exceptional.
I think its only fair to share the “pros and cons”. So, I’ll start with the pros
THE PROS-
The restaurant looks bright, clean with excellent large bright signage displaying the quality of the food being sold.
The greeting is pleasant and warm by the staff members that have been very well trained on how to greet clients.
The hand-held menus located beside the register are well designed with clear easy to identify options for fast ordering.
The new location is convenient for any Pickering Resident in the mood for Greek food.
The CONS
The good experience ends with the food.

Greek Salad? Are they kidding? I’ll attach photos- The Greek salad is made of head lettuce with ground carrots (like the package at the grocery store for labeled “garden salad”) to add insult to injury they stuff it into a Styrofoam container with a pre-packaged dressing that wouldn’t even pass as a Greek dressing in a high school lunchroom.
The rice – once again, a big fail. The rice had an overwhelming resemblance to Minute Rice. Nothing against Minute Rice but even they don’t serve it hot in a Styrofoam container. Am I the only person concerned with hot foods served in Styrofoam here? I mean didn’t the EPA already conclude this was a bad practice? Best of luck to anyone eating from those.
Last, but not least. The falafel. A signature Mediterranean food. What a complete joke. It must borderline on fraud to sell someone a Falafel and deliver that rolled up ball of what appears to be ground cardboard. Unfortunately, with a taste not far off, although yet to be determined which one would win the flavor contest.
Summery: a bad meal sucks and we have all had them from time to time. I can accept that. What I hate accepting is when a restaurant dumps money into signage, store front, franchise development, marketing, employee training all to lure you in and serve you absolute garbage. Well, you got me, you also got 39 bucks. If it helps you achieve your goals, I’m glad I could assist but when you look back on things remember that the legacy of your company will be “you delivered garbage to people that expected more from you, you cared more about money” I hope this helps the entire team at Mr Greek realize that when you have no passion for food, you have no place selling it. Read moreVery rude and terrible customer service! I had placed an order over the phone for pick-up for my family's dinner. The girl who took my order's name was Elly. After bringing it home we noticed that they got portions of the order wrong. (One of which was that there was no dressing at all for 2 salads). I had called notify them about my order being incorrect however they were less than courteous. Elly had again picked up the phone and was talking to me about my concern. Although I live in pickering I was on my way out to drop off my kids off with their dinner and head to work. I did not have time to go back again to get my order fixed. The only thing they could offer me was a credit on the "sauce" for the next time. I did not receive an apology for the mistakes made to my order and was even told that they didn't make a mistake and that I should check my bag for my order again. I found this to be insulting. I would not be calling if the order was correct. At this point I was very displeased with how they were handling the situation. Why would I want to come back to a restaurant that does not even take accountability for a mistake that they had made. Just because they offered me a "sauce" for the next time I come in, doesn't rectify the situation. I had asked to speak with a manager to which Elly replied that she was the manager on. When I asked for the contact information for the general manager of the establishment and I was ignored. She said that she would just pass along my information. I was very frustrated that the next day I returned to the Pickering Mr Greek and returned the food that I had ordered. We did not touch the food and had opted to order delivery for my kids. I explained my situation to a lady working and she was very courteous and apologetic. I appreciated that she listened to my concerns and refunded me back my money. I did still want to speak with the general manager because I did not appreciate how the situation was handled. She again could not give me any contact information but told me that he would be in later that day. I left my phone number and waited for his call. It has now been 4 days and I have yet to hear back...
Read moreI’ve been a customer of this location constantly for the past year and will NEVER go back there ever again. I ordered my usual, keep in mind that I ALWAYS order. Everything seemed fine until I picked up my order and opened it at home. It was the completely wrong order for everything, which is fine people make mistakes. I called back and told them nicely what it was supposed to be for both orders. I always get the Mediterranean box and when I mentioned that’s what I ordered. The person replied that they don’t have a Mediterranean box. I literally order it all the time so I replied , uh the one with the vegetables. He replied we don’t have vegetables or a Mediterranean box , replying with attitude as if I’m an idiot and don’t know what I’m talking about…. I obviously replied “you’re telling me you guys never had some thing THAT I ALWAYS ORDER. I asked to speak to some one who can further help me without giving me attitude. Then he says “I’m the OWNER” Then while still on the phone I check the website and it’s no longer on there. So, they obviously got rid of it and discontinued it .. WHICH IS ALL HE HAD TO SAY. Literally all they had to say was we discontinued it. Instead of giving me attitude as if I’m an idiot . Then processed to ask if there’s anything else I need from him, like I was wasting his precious time.. didn’t even offer for me to come back to re do my order, which I would of been fine with. I then kindly said, well Sir if you’re the owner let me just say you’ve completely lost my business for good and you should be ashamed of yourself to speak to your own customer like that. I of course drove and brought my food back and kindly asked for a refund and left.
I advise not to support this owners location. He was extremely unpleasant to deal with and does not deserve business at all. I’ve only ever written one review in my life and this is officially my second. I must say the workers are great though. I’ve always had a great experience with them. It’s unfortunate the OWNER himself will be the reason I will never return to this...
