Wonderful venue, spacious and clean, well lit. Friendly staff. Wide selection of vegetarian curries and Indian cuisine! Huge selection of freshly made sweets as well. Honestly if I wasn't allergic to nuts I would've want to try them all!
Samosa 5/5 perfectly fried exterior, not oily and freshly made, good thickness of the coating good amount of peas, potatoes and veggies. Well seasoned, not overpowering! sauces were a delight. well balanced and perfectly paired for the samosa
Dahi Bhalla 4.5/5 so refreshing! I didn't think I would love this but it was jam packed with flavour mixture of sweet from the chutney and sour spiciness from the yogurt, deliciously balanced the vadas were nice and crispy, providing another textural component black gram dumpling was interesting, a little off for my liking in texture but did add another dimension to the dish loved the pomegranate pop!
Samosa Chaat 4.5/5 samosa and chaat together, was well balanced, generous portion, nicely spiced and well balanced dish
Naan 5/5 simply delicious! Soft and fluffy the flavours inside were surprising, didn't think of a 'stuffed' Naan! burst of savoury cheesy notes and Indian spice blend, honestly feels like I've flown to that side of the world
Poori 5/5 first time trying this and it was light and crispy! was told it'll be oily, and while my fingers were covered, the item itself was actually not oily to the mouth. Went well with the semolina!
Mango lassi 5/5 mango and yogurt, nice sweet tang, good consistency, like a dessert drink as always
The other dishes I had was shared amongst the group I was with. Saag was nice but nothing too special, and the cauliflower pakora was well battered and fried. I also had the one with the paneer and spinach fried pakora? interesting take but unsure if u liked it, a little salty with the paneer lol.
overall would recommend the place! Went with a group of friends that were familiar with the cuisine and they raved about it too so you know it's good! Thanks for the...
Read moreA Deep Freeze at Rajdhani Dining in Sub-Zero Temperatures Let me preface this review by saying I'm a Torontonian. I understand winter. I get it. A little chill in a restaurant? Fine. But what I experienced at Rajdhani wasn't just a little chill – it was a full-blown Arctic expedition. With Toronto's winter biting at -10 Celsius outside, and no heat inside, dining here was an exercise in sheer survival. From the moment we walked in, a blast of icy air hit us. It wasn't just cool; it was bone-chilling. We kept our jackets on (and I saw several others doing the same), creating a strange, bundled-up atmosphere more akin to a skating rink than a restaurant. I even saw one poor soul wearing a toque and mittens. It was so cold I could see my breath – indoors! Our server, bless their heart, was apologetic. They confirmed what we suspected: the heating has been out for weeks. Weeks in Toronto in winter! Apparently, complaints to management have vanished into the frigid air. This is beyond unacceptable. It’s not just about comfort; it’s about basic human decency and, frankly, the well-being of both the patrons and the staff. I can't imagine how the servers are managing in these conditions. They deserve hazard pay. The food itself was… well, it’s hard to focus on the nuances of a meal when you're shivering. I ordered the Naan and Chana which, under normal circumstances, might have been quite good. However, the rapidly cooling food on my plate only added to the overall sense of discomfort. Every bite felt like a race against time before it became completely inedible. Honestly, I can't recommend Rajdhani to any self-respecting Torontonian – or anyone, for that matter – in its current state. Until they address the heating issue, dining here...
Read moreI recently ordered besan barfi through Skip the Dishes from this restaurant. Unfortunately, upon receiving the order, I found that the sweet tasted unpleasant after just one bite, and I could not bring myself to try more. I immediately contacted the restaurant to address the issue. The first employee I spoke to (a male) suggested I could order two samosas and offered to replace the sweets at no additional charge. However, when a second employee (a female) took over the call, her response was dismissive and unhelpful.
When I asked to speak with the manager, she informed me that the manager was not available. I found it hard to believe that a shift was being run without a manager present. Instead, she suggested that the problem might have been caused by the delivery driver and claimed that they could do nothing further, placing the blame on someone else.
The call lasted 16 minutes, beginning at 9:20, and after wasting a significant amount of time, she told me at 9:34 that I could order new sweets, but only if I did so before the delivery app closed at 9:30. I found it unbelievable that I was being told I could not receive a replacement because the app had already closed, despite still having time within the 16-minute call.
As a regular customer, I was frustrated by the lack of accountability and the unprofessional handling of the situation. Instead of offering a proper resolution or a replacement, the employee simply apologized and told me there was nothing more they could do. I believe customer satisfaction should be a priority, and this experience was deeply disappointing. I hope the restaurant will take this feedback seriously and improve its approach to handling complaints...
