North paw pumpkin ale review This pumpkin ale pours a dark brown color, which makes you feel like you're drinking fall. Upon first sniff, you'll get a hint of spice and a traditional pumpkin flavor. I find the pumpkin flavor to be a bit weak, which is understandable since it's hard to get a strong pumpkin flavor in the first sip, so it may be a hit or miss for those looking for a strong pumpkin flavor. The spice comes through in the flavor, but it's not overpowering, creating a harmonious balance with the malt and hop profile of the beer. The pumpkin flavor is subtle and accents and adds nuance to the flavor profile rather than dominating it. The body of this ale is medium, providing enough substance to carry the flavors without being too heavy or too light. It works well with the overall flavor, making it a satisfying and easy-drinking beer. If there is room for improvement, it's the head retention. The foam dissipates relatively quickly, which can affect the initial aroma experience. There could be a number of reasons for this. My guess is that the amount of carbonation is a bit low. Overall, this pumpkin ale captures the essence of fall in one glass. It may lack in some areas, such as head retention and a weak pumpkin flavor, but the flavor balance and body make up for it. If you like a more natural and subtle pumpkin flavor, this ale is for...
Read moreWeâre big fans of North Paw Brewing, especially the blueberry beer, itâs our main reason for stopping in during weekly bike rides, and we really wish it were available year-round. We love the outdoor patio area, but unfortunately, many of the plastic chairs are cracked along the back or seat area and should be replaced. It would also be great to have more umbrella stands, as several umbrellas are left unused due to the lack of proper poles/ holders.
It seems like the outdoor area isnât being well maintained, which is disappointing because it gets extremely hot on sunny afternoons, making the patio less enjoyable. A few small improvements could really elevate the experience and attract more visitors.
One unfortunate issue earlier this summer was the lapse in their outdoor license, which meant we couldnât sit outside and had to go elsewhere. For those of us who enjoy relaxing on a patio with a cold blueberry beer after a ride, that was a letdown.
We hope to see some improvements soon, especially because we truly LOVE the BLUEBERRY beer and want to keep...
Read moreBrand new brewery that needs to get through the glitches. So far so good.
Pros: Friendly staff, finally a local brewery, large wharehouse that is extraordinarily clean, clean bathrooms, nice tables, a nice variety of beers, roughly 10 beer on tap. Beer was tasty. I particularly enjoyed the Cream Ale. Caters to people biking off of the Poco Trail by Pitt River. Lots of bike parking. Lots of potential.
Cons: low atmosphere or ambience ie.no sense of identity (yet) and decorating, a little bland (maybe play some records), lack of seating areas only 4 high top tables, 1 long table and 1 couch/lounge space. No bar seats. No patio.
Biggest issue: no outside food allowed which isolates community and food trucks that bring in seats and advertising. They only offer 1 pizza and some pepperoni stix at the moment. Hopefully there is a plan to expand the kitchen or open up to people bringing in food. Not sure if kids are allowed but there would be no way of knowing as I donât have any. All in all, good start but at the moment 6/10. Glad they brought a...
