I have loved Noodle Box for years. When living in Victoria I would frequent the original location, and then the Government St location when it launched. I have really enjoyed the food over the years, but I am no longer impressed with their service. Earlier this week I ordered dinner for my family of 4 and had a horrible experience. With what I assume is standard COVID procedures, my takeout bags were stapled closed and handed over to me to be accepted. What I didnt know at that the time was that the staff did not secure the lid of one of the dishes, which resulted in the sauce soaking the paperbag. When I lifted the bag, the bag tore threw and an entire meal leaked all over the fabric trunk of my vehicle. When NoodleBoxCanada reached out to me after hearing of my complaint, they responded "thank you for the information. We are going to look into the situation further." I waited for a reply.... no response.. I messaged them to inquire how their investigation went.... I have noticed a "read receipt" on my message but I still have no response from NoodleBoxCanada. Though they don't seem to care, it is very discouraging to know their mistake caused damage to my property. My car stinks, I have had it cleaned and they don't seem to care... I am greatly disappointed in the poor customer service, but maybe I shouldn't expect much... since the staff can't even place a lid on correctly.

I kinda figured it wouldn't be close to authentic when a place serves many cuisines at a time. Ordered a pad thai and nothing about it was a pad thai. Veggies for a chinese stir fry were thrown in: broccoli, carrots, bell pepper and somehow also red cabbage. The sauce was like pickled ginger or onion - I couldn't tell because it was so strong. If there was tamarind as it claims on the menu, it was overpowered. The only good points were the noodles were al dente and the fried egg was perfectly fried (although it should be scrambled in). Portions were enough, especially for $11.95.

I ordered noodles, and they were completely burned. The taste and smell were terrible—like eating pure char. The burnt bits even stuck to my fingers. Extremely disappointed with the quality. We called the restaurant, and instead of taking responsibility, they told us to contact DoorDash. Very poor customer service. Would not recommend.

UPDATE 1 year later: I had lunch at the Victoria location last week and it was 10/10. Not even a week later my boss and I had lunch at the Coquitlam location and it still shocks me with the quality difference. Got the exact same dish and it tasted terrible. The chicken had the old taste that made the whole sauce taste bad. Got mild medium and there was 0 spice (got the same in Victoria and it was perfect) and the chicken texture was very off. Had a few bites and it grossed me out and made my tummy hurt. my boss had the same experience as well. Its unfortunate cause noodlebox is the best but this one location is just consistently terrible. I would recommend to avoid it.

I love Noodle box in Victoria when I go for work. I was craving it and was excited to see there was one not too far from me. I got the crispy ginger beef bowl with Hokken noodles which is my FAVOURITE and I was very disappointed compared to the noodle box I am used to. the beef was inedible because it was so chewy and soggy and there was little to no sauce. I get mild medium usually and it has the perfect kick, but I had to add about a table spoon of chili sauce at home because it was so bland! The Victoria location has the perfect amount of sauce, plus their beef still manages to actually be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Very disappointed I will only be getting noodle box when I am on the island for work because this was a waste of money and all locations should be consistent. it was shocking I had to make sure it wasn't a different place by accident. really just brining the Noodle box...

They really need to get their dishes right or they could be looking at closing down. I mean that with no malice but with well meant advice. I've had 3 take outs here and my experiences were Take out 1: MEH. Kind of lacking in flavour but nothing I could pinpoint Take out 2: Gave it another chance after months coz I was craving thai. Got a thai chowmein that was so salty that I was actually gagging and grabbing water. So I called and complained and they offered to replace. Take out 3: I ordered a pad thai for replacement and this meal was good. It was tasty and flavourful. After this, as a customer you think.. I have a 1 in 3 chance of the meal being prepared right (which reflects my rating 1.66 stars rounded to 2). How is this place ever going to get repeat business? There is nothing wrong with the service, which is fine. The issue is the food. The core product is not consistently prepared correctly. Unless these guys figure it out soon, they could be saying bye bye. This area is studded with great restaurants and customers have ample...
