I have been to dreamers probably around 4 or 5 times and every single time I've been there, busy or dead, it is so dirty. My mom and I went in for a quick treat, and boy did we regret it. The man who took our order had a pretty rude demeanor. He was like that every other time I had visited the Cafe as well. I used to think he was just having a bad day, but now I'm thinking customer service isn't really his calling. When we got our order, we went to sit in the dining area, and if it wasn't so cold out I would have opted to find a spot outside because the tables were filthy. the floor was covered in crumbs and there was mugs and food left behind by previous customers on many of the tables. But I wasn't surprised because it was like that the last few times I had been there too. So at this point, its not really a coincidence. I dont usually leave bad reviews but they werent nice to me, so. The place has potential to be really awesome, but the service and the cleanliness is what's going to make me chose to spend my money someplace else from now on when I'm...

If you enjoy food that is not fresh go to Dreamers Cafe in Port Hope. All the sandwiches have been sitting there wrapped in cellophane wrap for probably days same with baked goods. If you ask for a BLT they will take out one of the pre-made, half cooked bacon and wilted egg sandwiches (yes its been sitting there for hours maybe even days) and then proceed to heat it up in the microwave. Yes you heard me right. They heat it up in a microwave. Not healthy at all. The food is NOT fresh here! If you want fresh lunch go to either Millies Market which is directly across the street on the corner. Always fresh here. Or go to Happenstance Bakery & Coffee Roastery there food is always fresh. If you go to Happenstance they will cook the bacon while you wait and toast the bread. Its amazing. Dreamers Cafe is a health hazard. I'm surprised this place hasn't been shut down for health reasons. Coffee is not good either. Millies market has better coffee. That's my honest opinion I don't like leaving bad reviews but you are playing with lives when you re-heat...

What a terrible filthy place. Also the service can't really be called service. One guy, super slow, no customer service, looked miserable. Just needed to get out of the heat so we ordered a tea and a coffee and sat in the small area they had by the cakes. Tea was OK, coffee was awful. It was then we noticed how much dirt was around. It didn't look as if the floors had been cleaned since forever. The wallpaper was Paris themed as were the bistro table and chairs. They also played French music. I've been to Paris, this place was as far from seeming like Paris as it could be. The toilets were something else. A statue that was a spare toilet paper holder. It was broken so the paper was balanced on the top. It was thick in dust as well. In the toilet I was in, there was a partially open rickety door to cleaning supplies. The cleaning supplies were thick in dust as well as the mop bucket That alone tells you the state. The toilet and sink were about the only things in the whole place that looked clean. SO glad we didn't decide...

Everyone knows I'm a Starbucks guy. But did you know that I love indepent coffee shops more? Everytime I'm in a new town three first thing I Google is "Best Coffee shop in X" But that's not how I found Dreamer's Cafe. Instead this place is on the biggest corner in downtown Port Hope. It's next to the Capitol Theatre. We've been there several times for Comp and so this little Cafe had become a go-to. Your espresso drinks here are legit! They have an old-fashioned espresso machine. You'll watch them pour and press the beans before twisting the spoon into place. They have a HUGE selection of sweets! Today they had chocolate chip cookies covered in chocolate drizzle and cookie chunks in addition the normal selection of cookies, cakes, pastries and ice cream. If you're in Port Hope I highly recommend.

I was visiting some friends and they presented this place to me. It is exquisite. It carries its name well. Dreamers cafe, I would say identifies the owner and creator of the Crazy Cookie - he's a dreamer. The place is a ecclectic and pricing is reasonable for the quality of the products. You will not find another cookie like this anywhere else, it is litterally patented in so many ways. They are freshly done on the spot. We sat in to eat. Milkshake portions were generous. The lobster roll plates feel like a Maritimer lobster roll and the lobster brisket was delicious too. I will definitely stop again if I'm in the area. Dreamers cafe got me to know about Port Hope, ON. I bought of bunch of cookies and brought them all the way back to Montreal for my husband. Well worth it!
