We went on wing night, it was busy. We have been several times on Tuesday's for wing night. Never ordering just the wings , tonight we ordered kettle chips and a French onion soup to start with beverages. We wait 40-45 minutes the wings are served.....no soup or kettle chips. We ask where our starters were and are told they are coming. I eat a couple of wings then start to eat my soup when it arrives about 15 minutes later, my husband eats the kettle chips and his wings. I ask for a take out container to take home my leftover wings as I am stuffed trying to finish a French onion soup and eat cold wings at the same time. The poor young girl that was serving us now informs us that we can't take the leftover wings home. I ask for the manager (Reamy??) What a jerk! He has no customer service skills whatsoever. I explain that our starters came out after our wings arrived and that we have probably come to Turtle Johns about 10 times on a Tuesday wing night and every time our server has packed up our leftovers...including the leftover wings without ever telling us it wasn't allowed. He does not apologize for the starters coming out late, he precedes to tell me they make no money off of the wings on wing night he then removes my soup bowl says nothing else, walks over to our waitress tells her a big speech he is to scared to say to our face. The waitress comes back over and says that the manager says if I wanted to take my meal home I can pay full price for the wings. We tell her to get him back to our table, which he doesn't come back. The poor girl comes back with a container and informs us that she has been told to give us a container and that she is to pay for our wings out of her pocket because we were not told you can't take your leftovers home. How rude of him! He kept lecturing her in front of the customers and you could tell she was upset. The bill comes with just our appetizers and drinks on it. So we give her cash to pay for our wings as well so it wouldn't come out of her wages. After 20 years in customer service I have to say, that manager is terrible. To blame a new server for not saying you can not take your leftover wings home and then make her pay for our meal out of her wages.....not cool. You know that a mistake was made, it was busy. You brought out 20 wings , a French onion soup and a plate of kettle chips all together, just say sorry and pack up the customers meal. Don't tell them you are not making money. DON'T HAVE WING NIGHT! , If it is such a problem. Not to mention, maybe write that little bit of info on the chalk board sign as you come in, stating your rules about wing night. We have never been told that we can't take our leftovers home ever, and that includes .69 wings on Tuesday's. Instead of not allowing customers to take home their leftovers put a limit on the amount of wings per customer. Well Turtle Johns we went for a quick supper and a drink after work and from start to finish it sucked! There are a lot of places to get some wings and you will not be that place...

Read moreI will preface with the place was packed! However, it took us 4 times flagging down a server to get her to come over and take our drink orders. Approximately 30 minutes waiting at the table. A table that we had to go around and gather chairs for ourselves. The servers watched me (9 months pregnant) moving chairs and no one offered to help.
It took another 20 plus minutes to get our drinks. After waiting over an hour for our food, I finally went up to the bar to ask another server if she could please check on it. It was almost closing time at this point and no one else there was eating. She came out of the kitchen and grabbed our server seemingly panicked. Our server then told me it was very very busy and it shouldn’t be much longer. 10 minutes later the food came. I’m assuming she forgot to ring it in. It happens, we understand. However, a manager did not apologize to us. When we got our food it was terrible. We were starving at this point and just ate what we could and asked for our bills. I had to hunt her down to get our bills. 10 minutes or so later she still hadn’t come to take our payment, so we went up to the door where she was still just standing there. No apology, no offer for a discount. Nothing. Today, multiple people are sick from the food. Most likely because it was cooked in a rush.
I will end this with a message I got from My friend about her nachos. Overall, I am shocked at the poor service and horrible quality of the food. At least a manager could have stepped in to try and rectify the situation.
“Those nachos were the worst I’ve ever had like usually nachos are still good even if they don’t put enough cheese on them buuuut the cheese was even gross on these ones. And the veggies weren’t baked onto them they were just cut and plopped which was disgusting. We shouldn’t have even had to pay...
