Dragon House Restaurant — Restaurant in Powell River

Worst experience of my life,

I went to this restaurant on July 31st 2023, for the first time, i ordered diner combo for 1 fried rice with sweet and sour chicken , they served me the food, i ate couple of spoon from the fried rice and realized something odd, it had red meat on it, I asked the server what kind of meat is that, She says it’s “pork” .

I don’t eat pork at all and it’s against my belief. But on the menu it doesn’t says that it contains pork, so talked to the server asked her, why am I being served a food that contains pork, even though it doesn’t say on the menu. But she kept arguing that everyone knows it contains pork, my question was , how would somebody know it contains pork if its their first time going to the restaurant and it doesn’t says on the menu!

Well she kept arguing and didn’t even said sorry. Good thing they didn’t take the money! But does it make any difference?

It’s their negligence and misrepresentation...

Delivery was very quick and food was very warm upon delivery. Ordering on line was a little difficult and slow. Upon arrival and upon serving ourselves, we discovered the the sauce for the chicken balls and sweet and sour pork was delicious. The pork was fairly good. Small pieces that were easy to enjoy. The spring was bitten into once from both of us. It wasn’t good. The texture stopped me from chewing to just spitting out. The chicken pieces in the Chicken Fried Rice were very big and harder to chew. They didn’t taste fresh. This is the third Asian restaurant that we have eaten at since arriving in Powell River. It is the best one so far. That being said, we will be making our own Chinese food...

If I could give this restaurant a zero or negative rating review I would. Our order was not ready at the time they said it would be and you could tell that it was put together after they asked me to come back in 10 minutes. It looked and tasted like it was made last week and just reheated. The chicken dishes were very tough and bland tasting. Their special sauce was a cheap version of gravy. The noodles were stale. It was truly terrible, literally the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten a lot in my time. I should have listened to my mother in-law and picked up Chinese at the Quality Foods in the same centre, at least it would have been fresh(er). The people of Powell River...
