32 Lakes Cafe and Bakery is a charming establishment nestled in the heart of Powell River, offering a delightful experience for coffee and pastry enthusiasts. With its inviting atmosphere and attentive staff, it promises a memorable visit. However, I must admit that their rendition of the London fog falls short of expectations.

The London Fog at 32 Lakes Cafe and Bakery unfortunately lacks the robust flavour one would hope for. Despite the promising combination of Earl Grey tea, steamed milk, and a touch of vanilla, the end result is disappointingly weak and lacks that distinctive essence that makes this beverage so beloved. It leaves much to be desired in terms of taste and intensity. This was mainly due to the lack of steamed milk and sweetener in the London Fog that was received. It was so weak that it couldn't be finished.

That said, it's worth noting that 32 Lakes Cafe and Bakery offers a wide range of other delightful beverages and mouth watering pastries. From aromatic coffees to delectable treats, there are plenty of options to explore and enjoy. The cozy ambiance and friendly service further contribute to the overall experience.

If you're seeking a bold and flavourful London Fog, it may be advisable to explore alternative options. However, if you're open to discovering other delightful offerings, 32 Lakes Cafe and Bakery certainly has plenty to offer, making it a worthwhile stop for coffee and bakery...

If I bring my friend here and they don't know what to get, I'd say something like this to them:

The coffee is good. Latte is ookay. I like their cheesecakes. It goes well with the coffee. The croissant was disappointing. You know, I usually think of getting a latte and dipping my buttery and chewy croissants whenever I eat them. But this croissant made me want to get a black coffee instead, and also made me think 'ah, maybe their sourdough bread can be good'. Weird croissant. And it's $7 per one. Sourdough was ookay. It's better than the ones from Rocky. But still, it's not good enough to enjoy with just good butter and salt. I think it's perfect for sourdough sandwiches. What I recommend the most is their cheesecake with americano/drip coffee, and their vibe is really good, take the seat where you can see the ocean.

Easy parking in the back.

[★★★★★]: I'd think about coming here again even if it's across the continent. [★★★★]: I'd make a plan to come here. [★★★]: I'd come if I'm nearby. [★★]: I'd come if someone asks me to...

This is an absolute must stop in Powell River. The croissants are absolutely amazing. Me and my boyfriend tried the maple bacon and cheese, caramel apple and pecan, and nettle and feta croissants. We were in LOVE with this bakery before we walked in we were hit with the intoxicatingly delicious scent of baked goods. As we entered, I could see the croissants from the kitchen getting ready to be in my belly!

You can tell the croissants are made with the labour of love of the chefs here. You can definitely taste the level of care that was put into making their croissants.

My only complaint is I wish they had things clearly labeled in their bakery case of what’s available. I arrived just before 9am just as the croissants were coming out. As a I left I think I heard another item coming out too. So I’m not sure if coming right when they open is best as they had so much more to offer later! But I’m sure it’s all...

Okay I've been in Powell River for about 3 weeks now and have tried all the cafes ....anddddd this baby takes the cake! Tbh all the coffee in this town by all businesses is bloody good! However 32 lakes definitely takes first place. The coffee here is amazing, as are all the specialty coffees for the season changes. (Couldn't believe how TASTY the maple pecan latte was!) And the food... wow... such beautifully presented, eye catching and delicious bakery treats. The interior is incredibly warm, welcoming and the giant big windows facing the morning street just makes it a perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee, journal and/or read for a while. On top of all this, the staff are so genuinely kind and friendly. Lots of smiles, genuine conversation, and helpful advice. 10/10 ! And my #1 for PR. Thanks guys for such a amazing and unique little business 🥰
