I have been to this pub three times within a week. Decided I would provide a fair review given some previous comments.
In the perfect world we arrive at an establishment where the red carpet comes out, servers are perfect and anticipate our every need, food is crazy good, arrives promptly and the cost is next to nothing.
Even before pandemic that was not reality.
I arrived each time to have a slight wait, it was a full house each time. The servers appeared to be very busy but I was still met with a smile and offered a seat despite clearly being under staffed.
All three times I was served my drinks within a short period. They clearly are very good at keeping the draft lines clean as my beer was very cold and the keg was fresh. Tried two different taps and each beer was superb. I can truly say that 95% of restaurants don't offer all three at the same time.
Food was served within a reasonable time with large portions and piping hot.
The location is amazing, the weather was great for two of my visits.
Three different servers and I can honestly say they were all fantastic.
The atmosphere was pleasant.
I went on wing night, I arrived late and was expecting to hear they had run out - not at all.
The wings were fantastic. Bigger and tastier than what I normally experience.
Truly a fantastic place. Maybe I just got lucky all three times, hard to bat 1.000 every time as we are all human but given the current global conditions with shortages of skilled workers, even if someone else's experience isn't quite as positive, most likely it will still put a smile...
Read moreHad a reservation for 6pm tonight and was seated promptly. Our waitress was super friendly. The pub was busy and drinks/food was a little slow but there are postings on the wall saying "Big Pub, Small kitchen" so we expected that. Drinks were a little slow to come out. I asked if my drink could be 1oz instead of 2oz and the waitress wasn't sure that could be done? Anyhow, my drink came with 2oz and I couldn't drink it as it was too strong for me. I didn't understand why they couldn't make it with 1 oz. I reordered another drink and I still had to pay for the first that I couldn't drink. I was expecting to still have to pay but would have been a nice suprise if they had taken that charge off. Half of the food was good (falafel wrap, meatloaf sandwich and the buffalo mac n cheese). Both the calamari and the rib ends were very heavy and greasy as if they had been cooked in oil that was old and not hot enough when deep frying? We didn't mention anything to the waitress although our plates were 3/4 full after (we ate as a main) and she never asked if anything was wrong. Prices were ok but for the type of fare could have been a bit lower. The Pub itself had a great atmosphere with wonderful views of the marina and ocean. Ate here about 10 years ago and the experience was awesome as was the food. After tonight I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to eat here again...
