Bistro 694 — Restaurant in Qualicum Beach

The best meal we've ever had. And Nancy was INCREDIBLE. Not only did she squeeze us in on a cancellation (we're from the mainland and had no idea we should have reserved weeks in advance) she was an absolute sweetheart who made our dining experience so much better! The Chef (we later found out was Nancy's husband!) knocked our food out of the park! The crab cakes are stupid good... order them! The prawn curry was ridiculous (I wanted to lick the plate) and the seafood crepes was so good we didn't leave a speck even though we were full. Lastly (even though we had to unbutton our pants at this point), the creme brûlée knocked out socks off, so yeah you guessed it, we finished that too! We'll be back every time we come...

Just had Valentine's dinner, set menu which I have no issue with, I have been more or less 6 times over the years I save the experience for special occasions. Service was good we had a 4:30 reservation because I was late in calling in, the appy was great, crab and shrimp cake, main course was filet mignon for my partner and I had rack of lamb... thecfood was tepid at best, the filet was tough enough that it could hardly be cut with a steak knife. Decorated beautifully for a romantic night out or dinner with the girls. The mirror accents and little lights made the space fun and cozy. The food was amazing. We shared scallopes to start followed by seafood crepes, which are to die for. Our lovely, laid back server was obviously a professional in this industry! Wine sommelier perhaps?
