I came to the cafe as a tourist visiting Quebec City on vacation. As a huge cat lover with three cats myself, I was excited to spot a cat cafe while riding the city bus and knew that I had to pay a visit.

To preface, I am shocked that this place has a 4+ star rating in its current state…

I went to the cafe on a weekday around 11am, and I was pretty shocked at how unsanitary and poorly kept the place was. Right away as you enter, you’re instructed to take off your shoes for the cats’ health, but the slippers they provide are very dirty and smell bad. I felt gross putting my feet in them. When you walk in, it smells like cat excrements and just has a dirty atmosphere. The upholstered furniture is absolutely covered in stains, probably from cat pee, but I’m not sure. The food preparation area is not separated from the cats, which seemed unsanitary, and I had cat fur in my latte.

Most of the cats seem comfortable enough, but I noticed that most (if not all of them) are declawed, which is very inhumane. I don’t know if they came to the cafe that way or if the owners had that done to them. There was also a fluffy cat that was constantly growling and seemed to be in some pain, it was sad to watch how upset he was even while just grooming himself.

I went to the cafe with the intention of sitting for a while and reading a book, but I was so uncomfortable there I couldn’t stay more than the time it took to drink my latte, which I only drank to not appear rude.

The reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the service was friendly and welcoming enough, and I really do support the mission of the cafe. However, there are some substantial improvements that should be made to the establishment to make it cleaner and more...

I don’t understand how this place has a 4.4 rating.

My first impressions walking in were that the intense smell was simply not hygienic, especially for a cafe that sells food and drink, and that it overall looked like someone’s basement sitting room when they weren’t expecting company to show up.

Someone working there immediately instructed me to go wash my hands before I touched anything (fine, I get it it but also… hello, how are you?) and then to sit down and wait for one of the other people to come take my order. I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to pet the cats, move from my spot, it was all very strange and uncomfortable.

I ordered a tea to be polite but after listening to the employee’s wet, phlegmy, hack of a cough and whatever videos they were watching on their phone for 10 minutes - that was enough for me.

I paid over $4 for a tea I didn’t even touch, politely declined to make a donation that I don’t feel confident actually goes to the care and well being of the cats and got out of there as quickly as I felt they wanted me gone.

Overall such an uncomfortable experience.

Edit: the smell I described was not dirty feet, it was dirty litter and the smell of too many animals not cleaned up after frequently enough. Again, between that and the relentless wet coughing of the person working there, this is not a cafe I would ever recommend for consuming food or drink.

It’s unfortunate that the owner’s response demands more kindness and empathy on my part but is full of so much judgment towards me and how I navigate the world. It solidifies my feelings of this negative experience and I just hope the cats live long and...

I came here today, and its great!! Not only are the cats cute, and the atmosphere is pretty awesome, the food is extra delicious! If you’re coming to Quebec, or live here it is a MUST for you to come at least once! Also, I’ve seen people in the reviews saying that the workers aren’t social, honestly it’s a cat cafe for you to be social with the cats, not with the workers. I went and actually the workers were really nice and welcoming. Ive also seen them talking about the dishes and couches, its a cat cafe its not going to be 100% clean, it is clean and meets the standards I didn’t see any unclean matresses or dishes, obviously they are not the best as it is not a luxurious restaurant its a cat cafe where cats are roaming around and well they obviously like to play in the chairs so… and the dishes are not even unclean they are as a normal cafe has them but in general it is clean, also I see people talking about the prices, it is not expensive but it is not the cheapest cafe you’re ever going to be in, you have to keep in mind that they also have a family and pets to feed, trust me it is the same prices as a normal cafes prices so it is actually affordable. And well it has nice staff, great and fun atmosphere, calm environment, the cutest cats, and the most delicious and affordable foods and drinks, so I would def recommend!! (Ps: try their hot chocolate, and the brownie! The brownie is the most delicious brownie I’ve tried in my life and im not...

Such a lovely spot to relax while waiting for a bus or train. The atmosphere is calm and cozy, made even better by the presence of several adorable cats. I was surprised to learn that they’re all purebred cats, not just ordinary rescues as I had expected. They’re very friendly — some even let guests pet them. Also, I really enjoyed the food; the tomato soup I ordered was absolutely delicious!

I have always wanted to go to a cat cafe. Found this place near our hotel and decided to go for lunch. Must remove shoes at the door, probably for cleanliness. I had the ham and brie panini which was delicious - crispy bread and tender ham with creamy brie and cooked pears which added a bit of sweetness (the included side salad was ok but could be better). I also got iced tea which was fresh, cold and refreshing. The carrot cake was also quite good and seemed like it was homemade. Relaxing atmosphere overall and most of the cats were friendly and approachable. There was a nice variety of different cats as well. I did meet one grumpy cat that did not really allow much petting (it would meow angrily and swat you away, or make movement like it wanted to bite). The cats seem healthy and well-cared for. I was just a little sad for them all being declawed cats, but I can also understand it may be a safety thing so that they can’t scratch customers (but they can still nip/bite). The service was a bit slower than I expected but it looks like mainly 3 people are running the food service and I did go at a busy time. Really enjoyed my time there especially as I was missing my own three cats back home.
