There are a few places you must get boulangerie items from in Québec City and this is definitely one of them. I have to admit that this place is very close to my accommodation here and they open early enough for us to get fresh croissant AND coffee for breakfast. Most other places open later or the breads are not as good, ok, it's mainly because they do have one of the best breads (I mean breads so other boulangerie items are very good as well).

The price is really reasonable for the quality (it is a little pricier, but worth it). The coffee is really good as well (I shall not compare them to some watered down fast food coffee as it is not comparable).

The staff is really friendly even though I spoke English and they were very patient as I really took my time given the huge variety of things i can get here to eat. It is a joy to come here to buy breads with the friendly staff and I reckon most customers are regulars. The real French vibes are really good here (minus the unfriendliness).

P.S. the croissant still taste really good after a day even though they should be consumed as soon as possible within a few hours. I bought some one day old croissant as they were on sale and if you can heat them up, they are still very buttery and flaky as the lamination is really...

The best croissants of my life. Unfortunately, we were only in Québec for three nights. However, I had a culinary highlight every morning. The Amandine (Almond) and Amandine au Chocolat (Almond with chocolate) tasted fantastic. Prepared fresh every morning. The puff pastry was pleasantly soft and slightly buttery, combined with an exceptionally tasty but not too sweet almond cream filling. Depending on your choice, there was also a delicious dark chocolate note. I would have liked to try more, but I didn't want the scales to explode. They are small calorie bombs after all. But I would have loved to try every pastry here. Combined with the very tasty and not too hot coffee (cappuccino), it was the perfect start to the day. The price for a croissant (5.95$) is just about right, but shouldn't...

Ah-mazing! Everything we’ve tried at La Boîte à pain has been perfect! We swung by based on its high rating and proximity, but found ourselves heading over several times a day to top up during the duration of our stay. Croissants, chocolatines, blueberry danishes, kalamata olive bread, ham&cheese croissants baguettes, and the cruffins! Wow. The olive bread, ham&cheese croissants and chocolatines especially, unreal. Honestly we can’t get enough, so bring your appetites and get ready to be...

Lots of pastry and bread selections. Space was huge with lots of seating. They also make stone oven pizza. They looked good.
