Unfortunately I cannot recommend this bar/restaurant. We visited on Friday 02/23/2024, and truly had a terrible experience. We came in for a late dinner of fish and chips. I think it was around 745 or 8PM. The person working at the host stand cleaned off some seats for us at the bar. One of the bartenders came over to greet us, and I could tell that he was annoyed that we only speak English (despite having many other pleasant interactions in QC - sometimes with a language barrier). After taking our drink order, he and the other bartender seemed to immediately start talking about us in French. While I cannot speak French, I can easily read body language. He was gesturing to us and both of them were laughing. We were so uncomfortable. However, we were also hungry, so we placed our order for two fish and chips. After some time, I could see two plates sitting under the heat lamp outside the kitchen. It looked like a runner was standing by the kitchen window and clearly saw our plates sitting there. After about 10 minutes, I finally caught the attention of one of the bartenders to inquire about our food. I asked “is that our dinner?” He responded “probably” and went off to go grab it. After sitting under the heat lamp for so long, our plates and sauces were hot. We ordered two different styles of fish batter and neither were worth writing home about. The fries were overdone and brown, like they had been fried in old oil. We were most frustrated by the bartenders. In the time that we were seated at the bar, we watched the two of them sling back 3 shots. In this time, people were without drinks or refills, and the dirty drink glasses from the service staff were filling up the bar. It was quite gross. I watched a waitress searching for a place that she could leave a couple of dirty glasses. There were so many old glasses along the wall with the liquor set up that she literally didn’t have room to place down her glasses. I have worked in bars/restaurants for years, and understand being busy or in the weeds…however the two young guys that were working behind the bar that night seemed more interested in catching a buzz than serving their customers or taking care of dishes. We enjoyed the live music, but everything else about our experience was so poor that I would never recommend this...
Read moreVery mixed experience. The server was very attentive and friendly. It took forever to get our entrees. maybe 45 minutes after the appetizers. My Walleye entree was good but my husband's lamb chops were horrible. First, he ordered medium rare and they were raw. He sent it back to be cooked more and they came back only barely more cooked. They were completely inedible. So, now it's over an hour since the appetizer and it would be much too long to wait for anything else to be made. The server admitted that the lamb chops are frozen up until they are cooked so it's nearly impossible to get them right or in a reasonable period of time. This is absurd to have an item on the menu that cannot be cooked correctly. Also, the Guiness wasn't great - we expected great Guiness at a British pub. The atmosphere is rated only 3 because although the decor is nice, the stool seat (at the bar) was torn down to the filling and the music was Miami Beach - what we expected at a dark pub...
Read moreLondon pub in downtown Quebec City… WOW! I’ve been to London hundreds of times and I can tell you this restaurant/Pub gives you the closest feeling you can get to being in a London Pub. The atmosphere is amazing especially when they have a live band or singer playing music. From there delicious menu choices of England classics like; Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, Beef Wellington, Beef sandwich with dipping sauce, Braised beef in red wine & truffle mashed potatoes, etc. Even the desserts have English classics like the “Sticky Toffee Sandwich “. Everything we ate was so so delicious 🤤 The service was very attentive, welcoming, polite, very knowledgeable about the menu and fast. Our waiter was simply amazing and made our experience at this restaurant the first of many more to come… Thank you “Thomas”! Highly...
