La Piazzetta Cartier — Restaurant in Quebec

On our last day we finally made it to Avenue Cartier. This is a long avenue with many restaurants on both sides. La Piazzetta was well recommended, but a bit hard to find. It's inside another building with other restaurants on the right side of the street.

The place is bigger than it looks since it has two floors. We were on the first floor, by the bar, because we did not have a reservation and the place was quite packed (tip: make a reservation or come earlier). English was not much of a problem here, surprisingly and the menu was in English as well.

We ordered a small Pizza with Pesto, Lasagna, Tarte Tatin and Praline Royal cake. Everything was good and the portions were big enough for a dinner. The Pesto Pizza was the star of the evening for both of us. Lasagna wasn't bad either, but being more of a pizza fan this did it for me. Tarte Tatin was delicious, Praline Royal was a bit too dry.

All in all a good place for either lunch or dinner. I would come again for...

We were a group of 12 people and were placed on the second floor. We loved the fact that we had the whole floor to ourselves, although it needed a bit of air conditioning up there. Though the service was kind of long, it was quite understandable as the place seemed to be understaffed but we, nevertheless, enjoyed this time conversing amongst ourselves. We especially appreciate Florence, who received and served us, as she did a great job doing everything from receiving us to taking our orders, serving our food up to billing each of us. Je ne peux ajouter plus de 2 étoiles à cette expérience.

En arrivant certes à 21h15 hier soir pour un restaurant qui ferme à 22h, je suis arrivé en ayant quand même légèrement l'impression de déranger quand j'ai demandé si la cuisine était encore ouverte.

Je me suis installée en terrasse, où la serveuse m'a gentillement averti que la cuisine ferme dans 10 minutes, très bien de le préciser.

J'ai commandé une pizza au fromage pepperoni ainsi qu'un gâteau royal praliné en dessert.

C'est la première fois depuis mon arrivé à Québec, que je mange une pizza aussi simpliste, sans goût et sans âme.

Une pizza de forme carré n'est pas le problème, mais alors rien ne ressort de cette pizza.

On aurait dit une pizza sortie du congélateur, aucun goût, rien qui ressort de ce plat à 17,50 dollars quand même .... En petite taille.

Enfin au dessert, j'ai apprécié le gâteau royal praliné mais alors là présentation est totalement bâclé.

On a posé une part de gâteau dans l'assiette et c'est tout, aucun effort pour bien présenter ce dessert avec une sauce chocolat par-dessus, ou chantilly ou je ne sais quoi d'autres mais c'est bien trop simpliste.

M'enfin, la service ne fut pas très long, la serveuse s'est contentée du minimum pendant le service.

J'ai été servi avec de l'eau sans demander, bon point et on m'a demandé à la toute fin de service si c'était à mon goût, bien aussi.

Pour une addition de 40$ je trouve cela cher pour ce que j'ai mangé.

Dommage car l'emplacement y est très bien.

Si vous souhaitez manger quelque chose d'original je ne vous conseille pas...
