Classic French restaurant in the Canadian center of French culture. Busy, somewhat crowded restaurant with outdoor seating as well. The menu is a joy for those who want a dinner with large portions and excellent sauces. My wife decided to go with the set meal and started with pan-fried Foie Gras. (Yes, we sympathize with the movement to stop the production of foie gras, but we gave in). I, too picked the Foie Gras. Served with a red wine sauce. Absolutely fantastic. My wife then got a small bowl of soup. Delicious. For the main course, my wife chose the veal chop stuffed with sausage in a white sauce. Delicious but part of the chop was very tough. For my main I had pan-fried veal sweetbreads, one of my favorite classic French meals. Here it was served in a reduced red wine sauce. While I prefer fixing sweetbreads in a cream-based white wine sauce, the Graffiti preparation was as good as it gets. My wife finished her meal with a maple tort. Again, delicious. Extensive wine list (as expected). We chose a Haut Medoc that was that matched our meal perfectly. Good service, friendly staff. When and if Michelin finally gets around to rating Quebec City restaurants, I’d vote for 2 Michelin stars for...
Read moreWhen we arrived the kitchen staff were very friendly. We were seated immediately even though we were a little early for our reservation. The waiter seemed unimpressed that we were English-speaking and very dismissive. We don't drink alcohol and the non-alcoholic choices are very limited, even more so considering they didn't have some ingredients to even make some. The waiter0 changed his tone with me as soon as he realized that I spoke French - my husband is English-speaking only, which is why the waiter heard us speaking primarily in English.
The food was excellent. The only disappointment with the food was the fact that we had leftovers and they offered to pack them for us. They returned a multi-sectioned container which we figured had both of our meals in separate sections. When we returned to our hotel room, we opened the container to see that they had put the meals on top of each other in the same section of the container. If you have leftovers ask for the containers to package them yourself!
We won't be going back but for those that want to try it out it's...
Read moreFigured I have to leave a review here. Me and my parents were visiting the city and wanted to try some French food and picked this place. I ordered a beef tartare just because I like to try new stuff and heard about this dish. The results were.... well. I had to order another dish..... Nothing were with how they prepare the dish, as someone from Asia I really can appreciate the raw taste. When we were checking out, I noticed they did not charge me the beef tartare. "You don't like it, don't worry about it" Staff said. I have to give them a full star for their consideration. The other dish were so decision and their service is exceptional. I am telling everyone I know who plan to visit Quebec city to visit this place. Kodo to the Graffiti team, really made...
