Montmorency Park has served many different purposes over the years including being a military site and meeting place of the Legislature of the United Province of Canada. It is now home to a few statues and memorials, Today, here stand monuments to Louis Hébert, the first Canadian farmer, and Sir George-Étienne Cartier, one of the fathers of Confederation, as well as a plaque commemorating Québec's first parliament building.

This urban park in the heart of Old Québec extends onto a section of the site of the first cultivated land in New France. It is also where the Legislative Assembly of United Canada parliament sessions were held.

There’s an old lodge/chalet that serves meals and has a small gift shop and a landscaped garden leading down to the gondola. Free stairs lead down to the waterfall for the fit, but we paid our fee and chose the gondola. The falls themselves were quite lovely and full following a heavy rain and we had the extra treat of a rainbow. Several tour buses arriving during our visit, though the metropolitan bus was a cheap and easy...

Montmorency Park National Historic Site is a breathtaking spot to visit during the fall season! The view is absolutely stunning, with vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold painting the landscape. It’s the perfect place to soak in Quebec City’s autumn beauty while enjoying a peaceful walk surrounded by history and nature. The park offers great photo opportunities overlooking the St. Lawrence River and Old Quebec, making it a favorite for both locals and visitors. If you’re in Quebec during fall, Montmorency Park National Historic Site is the perfect place to experience the magic...
