Montmorency Park has served many different purposes over the years including being a military site and meeting place of the Legislature of the United Province of Canada. It is now home to a few statues and memorials, Today, here stand monuments to Louis Hébert, the first Canadian farmer, and Sir George-Étienne Cartier, one of the fathers of Confederation, as well as a plaque commemorating Québec's first parliament building.
This urban park in the heart of Old Québec extends onto a section of the site of the first cultivated land in New France. It is also where the Legislative Assembly of United Canada parliament sessions were held.

but my favorite is - taking a photo of Chateau Frontenac along the stairs of Prescott Gate - that is a great spot, trust me.

Read moreWe were able to pick up Bus #800 near our apartment and ride it for the twenty minutes or so to the falls. By the time we got to the final bus stop, all riders were heading to the falls. We moved as an awkward group back down the road to the falls’ entrance, where we were processed and paid our dues (25 cent senior discount!). There’s an old lodge/chalet that serves meals and has a small gift shop and a landscaped garden leading down to the gondola. Free stairs lead down to the waterfall for the fit, but we paid our fee and chose the gondola. The falls themselves were quite lovely and full following a heavy rain and we had the extra treat of a rainbow.
