Tasteless. I have no idea how this restaurant has 4.2 stars (182 ratings), it's unbelievable. The Age Dashi tofu was covered with a thick (fried-chicken like) breading instead of a nice light batter that just melts in your mouth like it should. The tofu inside was flavourless too. The Tempura Shrimp was covered in a "fish and chip" type batter, also bland. It was served with some veggies with that same batter, which included undercooked sweet potatoes, and others, all dull. The orange beef consisted of: chewy beef, raw-tasting veggies, overly sour (and probably store bought) orange sauce and unsalted rice. We returned it to the kitchen because it was not edible. They offered to replace it but we didn't want to risk wasting more food. At that point we asked if it was too late to cancel the makis we ordered because we weren't looking forward to trying a (most likely) other failed item on the menu. It turned out to be too late so we tried it and it was passable, at best. I'm a huge foodie and am always open to trying new restaurants from different cuisines and discover new flavours and ingredients, whether it's from a hidden gem that charges almost nothing for amazing food or in a renowned fine dining restaurant where pricing is higher. As long as the food is good, I don't mind. This was so disappointing and I will never go there again nor...

I had such a great experience at this Japanese restaurant! Everything was incredibly fresh — the sushi, the ingredients, everything tasted so clean and high-quality. The coffee was also surprisingly good, which you don’t always find at sushi spots, so that was a nice bonus.

The service was really good, the staff was attentive without being overwhelming, and the decor and atmosphere made the whole experience even better. The music was also really well-chosen — it added to the vibe without being too loud.

One thing I really loved is that you can actually see the chef making the sushi right in front of you — it’s such a cool experience and makes you appreciate the craftsmanship even more. Also, they’re super generous with their wasabi and soy sauce, which is honestly refreshing.

I’ll definitely be going back....

The sushis were O.K. but nothing amazing. My friend ordered a Salmon Pokebowl and it honestly was the worst one I ever tasted, it went unfinished and bare in mind, we were there as a big group and a menu was forced upon us. No possibility to share a meal and said menu had no list of ingredients so we did not know what items we would be getting. We asked to get the sushi menu and were denied it as it would slow service down for a bug group but it honestly did not help at all.Service was slow and reservation was delayed half an hour while we were waiting there inside, all crammed against each other and when it came to being seated, we had to hear insults from the other group that was kicked out because of poor reservations management on the restaurant's part. Second time there, first time leaving a review. I'm...

This was a great experience. It's a cute little restaurant and I recommend it if you are looking for a place to talk and not shout. The price for the sushi matches the quality. The only little thing I'd say would be that the rice wasn't seasoned enough. But the quality of the veggies and the fish was great! The service for the food took a while but there was only one chef. I really enjoyed the shogun sushi, which had fried soft shell crab in it! Delicious!

Wow I can only say great things about the food and the place itself. It truly is a hidden gem. The ambiance was very chill and the staff was extremely attentive, which in my books is always a major plus. We've been going to shogun since 2014 and will continue to stay loyal to this hidden gem of a restaurant for years to come.

Shogun was pretty avarage. Nothing really special. I'm not saying that the food was bad, no it tasted pretty good. The service was very good. It seemed like there was 1 waitress, for the whole restaurant. And she was everywhere. And had enough time to ask about us, also.
