So went for my birthday while visiting from out of town. This place is near where we were staying and had what looks like good reviews at first glance and looked like a nice place walking by.
So, to start it took about 50+ min for the orders to show up. Hey if it's great you can take your time, but...
They came in a giant boat with fire works. I thought maybe my wife had said something about it being my birthday but nope this is apparently normal. Compensating for something? Yes, yes they are.
Quite possibly the worst sushi we've had, some things were wrong like we asked for 3 sashimi and got 2 nigiri. And that was dry hunks of kind of flavorless salmon on stale rice.
The Salmon double was AWOL and instead there was a lot of rolls that had minced salmon tartar passing as that.
There were about 8 rolls in all we ordered and they were all very similar. Very badly built and prone to falling apart. Super salty which is strange, and otherwise also generally bland, indistinguishable flavors and everything had an old texture.
Mushy rice, dry and sketchy fish, the only distinct thing flavor wise was a salmon bacon thing and it was not good.
We eat a lot of sushi. The only time we've left food behind before was ages ago doing an all you can eat thing where we over ordered.
But we didn't finish this meal because it was just really bad.
Service was nice enough, when i told them at the cash what i thought they took 15% off. But honestly it was still not worth it. Could not recommend.
Ed: and now the owners would like me to take time to 'discuss' my review. LoL, no. Your business clearly has a kitchen problem and spiking reviews by offering deserts isn't the fix, and I'm not doing free labor for you by spending my time emailing you. You lose...
Read morePlease guys, if you are like me and you want to come here due to the amazing reviews, it’s not worth it. After having dinner, I was wondering why on earth this place was so highly rated. It turns out they give a free dessert if you leave a goggle review. There was an ad on each table explaining this. We chose the all you can eat menu. This was the most limited all you can eat I’ve ever been to. They charge extras for many essential things. The AYCE menu items are so limited and some things are plain inedible. Popcorn shrimp was cold and disgusting. General Tao tasted rubbery and was 2 pieces with mostly rice. Sushis all tasted the same and looked badly made. A lot of raw ginger in the food which I don’t like. THE SERVICE SUCKED. The waitresses don’t smile, they don’t want to work, they look like they’re being forced to work, they leave the food waiting a while before grabbing it, they take many breaks… We went there on a Saturday at 7:30 thinking it would be jam packed due to the reviews… The place was empty only 2 other couples were there… I’m sure everyone leaves a good review for the free desert and then never step foot back in. On the upside our sangria was good. 150$ bill for 2 people was really ridiculous for the...
Read moreWe were a group of 6 people (me and my friends) coming from Montreal the weekend that Benson Boone came to Quebec.
I was quite content with my choices. I took 2 makis: 1 Coco and 1 Imperial. The Coco was sweet, which was definitely novel for me! A maki with strawberries and coconut? Sign me up! I did find the strawberry to be overpowering the other ingredients, but it was still very enjoyable. As for the imperial, it was my favourite out of the 2. I have no words to describe how tasty it was. If I had more capacity in my stomach I would’ve took 2 orders of it. While my order was fine, I took a bite of one of friends’ maki and their rice was,, surprisingly sweet? They didn’t take sweet makis like the Coco so it was a bit odd that their rice would be sugary. It seems like it only occurred to half of our group, so maybe it was just a small slip up.
Nonetheless, the service and ambiance together were so nice! The staff is kind and the room so cozy. Would definitely be one of our dinner options if we go...
