Experienced a slow delivery due to inability to navigate. I ordered (online) to a small rural community 5 min outside of Red Deer at around 2pm, received a call at 3pm regarding the address/directions (that is when the pizza was ready), and received the pizza at 5pm.
I thought there might be navigational issues, because google maps gets confused with the address, so I gave coordinates for the place + back up directions from a nearby school (ie. it is up the hill from the school heading straight west and follow the road as it curves, you will have to go through an intersection with a yield sign).
I called back at 4pm checking in to see what was happening. They told me the delivery driver came back because he got lost. I received a phone call at 4:15pm asking for more instructions. They asked me if it was a left or a right when they get to the school, and I told them it is west (up the hill) and just go straight. They couldn't tell which direction was what, and I couldn't get a straight answer if they came in from Highway 11 or Highway 11a (ie. are they pointed North or South??), so I couldn't answer if it is a left or right for them. They said they went up the hill, and I asked if they saw the yield sign yet. They said no. Around 4:45, they mentioned something about seeing 'no exit', I told them that was the way. We met up and I got my pizza. Now, the funny thing is, the 'no exit' sign is posted on the back of one of the yield signs..
When I opened the pizza, it was very brown and dry. I suspect they put the pizza back in the oven to make sure it was delivered hot. Unfortunately, I would have preferred it not be overcooked and dried out. I would have been happier if was delivered cold and not dried out.
There are 3 main problems with this: why didn't the driver use google maps or similar? Why didn't the driver read/listen to my very explicit instructions? (If they read/listened carefully, they would have known to just go straight through the intersection at the top of the hill). Why can't the driver distinguish North, East, South, and West?
I would have given a 1-star review, however, I have ordered from buster's pizza many times before (while I was in town rather than outside of town) and had no...
Read moreOk so I was wanting some late night food and was ecstatic to find a donair place open!! I went in 40 minutes before close, wanted a donair and was told the grill was off and it would have to be in the oven. I was kind of shocked since it was still almost an hour before close and there was people who just ordered ahead of me as well as a delivery driver coming back and forth getting food so it’s not like they didn’t have orders? I also got some jalapeño poppers and fries... I went to the store to grab some milk quick and when I got back the lady told me they didn’t have the stuff to make jalapeño poppers and offered me chicken bites instead which I accepted. So once my food was ready I asked for ketchup ( for the fries ) and ranch ( for the honey garlic boneless chicken bites ) something that should come with the food anyways no?? I had to yell out hello a few times because the lady ran to the back right after giving me my food, the delivery driver came out and I asked for the condiments telling him I was staying in an air bnb and they didn’t have anything there. So the lady comes out and gives me one of each, and I asked for an extra one of each, again stating I’m at an air bnb and there isn’t anything there. So she charges me SIX DOLLARS FIFTY CENTS, for TWO lil packs of ranch and two lil packs of ketchup.... that were for fries and chicken bites... I literally said I’m not paying that much, and she straight up told me “ well you are asking for a lot ma’am so I have to charge a lot” and I still payed like 3$ for one ranch and two ketchup. My god I couldn’t believe it. Anyways I wanted to write this review in the parking lot right when it happened but I decided to eat my food first since I remembered the grill wasn’t used and the donair was sooo disappointing. Seemed like the meat wasn’t cooked throughout and it was so cold, and my air bnb was a four minute drive away. Was really disappointed. Won’t be back and don’t recommend going for a late night bite even though that’s what they...
Read moreWas in to get a "Jumbo" Donair and cheese bread tonight. Very disappointed with the "Jumbo" size, smaller then other donair places regular size. Maybe Jumbo at Buster's means an extra piece of meat? And if you want extra anything expect to pay extra...a little extra onions or any other topping (lettuce, etc.) well it will cost you but you won't see a difference on the donair. The meat was mediocre and toppings were lacking. All in all the donair was a true disappointment. The cheese bread(sticks) and the sauces were actually very good. Lastly customer service at the Donlevy Avenue could use a little work. Guy at the front had very poor manners and could care less, had to give my name a handful of times then try my wife's name...he looked at me blankly....then without a word he just ran in the debit and left(debit machines need a no tip option). Returned with the food, left it at the far side of the cash register ripped off the debit receipt, didn't offer a receipt and left again. Walked over to the food he had placed on counter seen my name on it, only way I knew 100% that it was for me. Hate to say terrible service from this location. All in all not the greatest experience from a chain that should have this figured...
