I came here with my Wife for the NYE event last night and it was the worst experience we have ever had from any restaurant.
WORST OF THE ISSUES! My wife went to go request a song (as the music that was playing was just remix after remix and just seemed "meh" and lets be honest, we all have tried requesting songs before from DJ's) there was no sign or anything saying that they weren't taking requests, so she went to go ask.
When she asked the DJ, the DJ just flat out said "no" and went back to just standing there. And then another person (not sure if there were 2 DJ's or why he was there) said "It's a set Playlist, so we can't add music or change it" and then a staff of the brewhouse came and asked what the problem was, so my Wife explained it to him. This staff was dismissive and rude. During the talk with this staff member, there were a few people (not sure if they were just the friends of the DJ, or they were other customers) staring and laughing at my wife.. after she was done talking with the staff member she also tried to explain to these people what had happened and they pushed her (twice!!) and was rude and said a few things I won't post.
After this, my Wife came and sat down at our table and explained what had happened and we got the manager. We expected the manager to listen and care about what happened but she was just disingenuous and dismissive if it. She asked what she could do to make the experience better and my Wife explained that she's not asking for anything outlandish, just that the manager does something about it. The manager eventually settled on comping 3 drinks and said that's all she is really going to do. My Wife explained that she also wanted the people that pushed her to be dealt with, with this the manager said something I couldnt hear and just walked away. We stayed a few minutes to see if she would go talk to them (she didn't) before paying and leaving.
The event seemed planned last minute, and the "DJ" was just someone sitting there while the music played (and would just say something about new years every so often) and I'm not sure what was going on with the Minecraft video on the TV, but it cheapened the night.
The waitress came to our table very few times and when she did, there was mistakes. Like almost charging us for the more expensive version of the drinks and originally charging us for the "welcome highballs" that came with the tickets we bought for the event.
We will for sure...
Read moreWe were on a long road trip and this was our second stop. We had our 8 month old Maltipoo with us so we searched for restaurants that allowed pets. I was so happy to see this location did as this was the first time we were ever going to try bringing her out with us for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised to see the outdoor patio was all artificial turf and they provided a nice big dog bowl for water. When I sat down I checked the area around the table and picked up a piece of glass, some rolled up paper, and a metal hook. My puppy sat on the turf while we ate our appetizer and when I was waiting for our dinner to come I noticed her start to choke. I quickly grabbed her and did some techniques to try to dislodge whatever she was choking on. I managed to get her breathing again and glanced at the area she was sitting. I noticed 3 more pieces of glass. Again within minutes the choking started up again (2 more times). As I was sitting on the ground assisting her the staff came out with our food. I told one of the waitresses that my puppy was choking on glass and showed her all the pieces I had picked up. She grabbed the debris and said something about bringing a rake out. At this time my heart was racing. It was very traumatic. My problem with it all is that no one returned. No one came to check on us, no one came to rake the turf. Instead I sat with my puppy on my lap and picked at my food. I felt too sick to even eat. Our original waitress came out at the end to give us our bill and we left. As I drove back to the hotel I fired off an email to head office (I’m assuming) because I didn’t want another dog to suffer the same circumstance as they didn’t appear to take it seriously in the restaurant. A very kind employee from Edmonton wrote me back and had genuine care. She said that someone from the Red deer restaurant would contact me. Well it’s been 10 days now and I’ve never heard a peep. This is so unacceptable! We are a family that appreciate compassion and concern and we’re not looking for anything. Being ignored has really bothered me, which is why I’m posting this. So basically beware if bringing pets because clearly this location doesn’t care about their customers or their furry...
Read moreWe went here this evening after we went to Discovery Canyon before we headed back to Edmonton! There is only certain seating for people with minors and most of it was just high chairs very few benches. My husband and i were the first to show up with our son. There was a total of ten of us. Thankfully we got a bench because we have two 3 yearolds with us. My husband and i were each given a menu with our child menu. When everyone else showed up the waitress came over with more menus and we asked for a few minutes before we order our drinks because everyone just showed up. She said no problem and left with all the extra menus!!! So now with the ten of us we have two adult menus and two young ones fighting about who is going to colour. So we waited 15 min until the waitress comes back. No extra menus. We ordered drinks and asked for one more kid menu and another adult menu since we were already sharing and knew what to order. It took another 10 min for some of the drinks to come. Can only fill up one kids chocolate milk cup and then they were out . We asked if they could fill each cup half with chocolate milk then add more white milk. Looked at us and then agreed. 10 minutes later brought back most drinks except one water. We asked the waitress how long until the food would take. She said 20 min. Ordered food (out of dry ribs on special) reminded that we needed one more water. When you order off kids menu noted that you should get veggies and dip promptly. As per what menu said! Never got them. It took us over 45 minutes from first drink order to finally get missing water. Received plates and cutlerty. 20 min after that waitress came back and informed us that they were out of more than 50% of what we ordered. We informed them to cancel our order because we were leaving. We have been there for almost an hour and a half. The only one star item is they did not charge us for drinks! Thanks!!!
