This restaurant in Ajax location claimed to make my meal "Fresh" in just THREE & NINE MINUTES??! I have been to many restaurants and I know how long fresh food should take to be made. I do not need to taste the food in order to tell the chef if it is fresh, pre heated, stale, etc. Just by looking at the food I can tell if the food is fresh or not. At 8:59pm, I went to the cash counter and let the cashier know if they can please prepare my food and I was willing to wait a while longer after breaking my fast so that I get to have a “fresh meal.” As I was waiting for the cashier to just turn around and let the chef know to prepare my order, instead she went straight to the back area away from view then quickly came out while the chef was clearly in my view. I then received my second order at about 9:02pm and I was shocked by how quickly it was prepared again. They sure have super powers as this time my “fresh meal” got ready in just 3 minutes. When my food was brought to the table, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked the same cashier twice, if she was sure that the food was fresh and in return I was told “I swear to God.” Now I cannot further say much if a person makes such a heavy statement. I had taken pictures of my previous plate and I took picture of the second order and I strongly feel that it was the same order (proof available) There was a certain piece of chicken which had a slight cut from the corner and the second plate had that same piece of chicken. The only difference this time was the chicken pieces were moved around to make it look like it was made again. Due to heating it again, the chicken became extra tough and dark in colour. As to what really happened in the kitchen, Allah Ta’ala knows best. I don’t know if it was the owner or chef, but a male passed by our table to let us know everything was made fresh. Well, I am not going to argue with someone who is so over confident and wants me to believe that everything was made fresh. My husband and I both said “Thank You” to him and started to eat the food. Yes I can tell the naan was not the same naan from my first order but most likely pre-heated as well, It was not at all fresh and it was so hard to eat even now my jaws are hurting. I have video proof of the hard naan as well. My husband and I did not want the food to go waste so we sat there for almost an hour trying to chew all the hard pieces and finish the food. I even have a picture of the sauce that I was given which was not even half filled. I was shocked at what I was receiving. As a paying customer, I expect business owners to work with honesty. If you do not want to work with honesty then remember Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala is All-Knowing. It would be nice to be honest to your customers and tell them that a food cannot be made fresh. It’s simple; if you are not going to eat something like that then why serve your customers such food? I would have said the food is good if it was genuinely good. I fully support local businesses and I eat out a lot with my husband but a business like this that do not care about their customers, then this was my first and my last visit to your restaurant. I am not coming back again and I am not recommending it to anyone of my family or friends. I really hope and pray that the restaurant will learn from their mistake and not to repeat this again with anyone else. If a customer is confirming a request a few times then please have that courtesy to be honest. For your honesty, you will not lose but instead Insha’Allah you will gain more blessings in success from Allah...
Read moreLast night, I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Afghan Cuisine Restaurant. At exactly 9:40 PM, my friend and I placed an order for dine-in, but before we could pay, the cashier informed us that we couldn't dine in because it was near closing time. Despite pointing out that the restaurant closes at 10:30 PM and offering to stay only 10-15 minutes, the cashier said she needed to ask the boss. After consulting with the manager or owner, who also refused, citing that the restaurant had already been cleaned, we were still denied service.
I found it very disrespectful, especially since there were still 50 minutes until closing time. We even offered to eat from plastic dishes to avoid extra cleaning. What made the situation worse was that it was raining outside, yet we were still turned away. It's disheartening to see such poor customer service, especially when there are so many other restaurants around with excellent service.
As an Afghan, I wanted to support a fellow Afghan establishment, but this experience was embarrassing, particularly in front of my guest. The large, spacious dining area felt unwelcoming, and it's evident that this restaurant operates more for business than out of a genuine love for cooking or hospitality. This was by far the worst dining experience I've had, and I cannot recommend Afghan Cuisine Restaurant to anyone seeking good service and a...
Read moreWarning!!! This restaurant is a poor imitation of the Original which is Bamiyan Kabob I usually buy a Chicken Caesar Salad from Bamiyan Kabob, it is consistently good with 4-5 chunky pieces of grilled white chicken. Since this newer place Afghan Cuisine is much nearer to my home, I decided to get the same from them. Once I got home and opened the takeout box, I see 4 small cubes of grilled chicken on a bed of soggy lettuce with lots of crotons. They charge the same price as Bamiyan but the quantity and quality is INFERIOR!!! I have got take out from there before and its been okay to so so but this is the last time I go there. If you want consistently good quality Afghan Cuisine with generous portions, you cannot go wrong with the Famous Bamiyan Kabob Establishment. I for one will stay away from imitators like Afghan Cuisine. Their décor is better than Bamiyan Kabob but its the quality and quantity of the food that way...
