Came across this restaurant and decided to try take out for family dinner.
Beautiful spacious seating area. Friendly restaurant staff. Easy to order on Uber or Skip the Dishes for pickup or delivery. Good variety of dishes on the menu. Order was ready in 30 min. Clear signage showing patrons where to pick up your order.
We ordered:
Jumbo Ravioli Pasta $19 Italian sausage and broccolini filled ravioli, with sundried tomato pesto, Kalamata olives, roasted garlic, and parmesan cheese. Comes with large 8 pieces of Ravioli. Good ingredients but too salty with too many olives for my taste.
Fish & Chips $21 Large 9 oz battered haddock with French fries, tartar sauce, and lemon wedges. Large piece of fish but the batter on the fish is hard and dry. The fries are good.
Chicken Kaarage $14 Japanese inspired fried chicken with togarashi mayo dip. Average. The Mayo dip is tasty.
Classic Caesar $14 Crisp romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, smoked bacon, herb croutons and house-made dressing. Good but the lettuce was warm. Because this was a takeout order it was packed with the warm food which is probably why the lettuce was warm and wilted.
House Smoked BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich $18 48 hours smoked and slow cooked beef brisket tossed in barbecue sauce, topped with apple cider slaw served with choice of French fries, onion rings or side salad. Really good burger.
Overall, happy to try this restaurant to support local businesses but some dishes were better than others. Perhaps dining in the restaurant would be better for certain dishes. The ambiance of the seating area may also make the dining experience...
Read moreI wish I could give 0 or negative stars. We went for the Christmas eve buffet at 7pm, Dec 24. For a $80/person plus auto 15% service charge add-on, I think I could get better food and service in Mandarin or Dragon Legend buffet.
First, the line-up for lobster was ridiculous - at least 15 min if not longer wait. Second, the person at the carving station must be told to cut both roast prime rib and turkey as thin as and as small as humanly possible. It was so thin and small that it's like a shaved deli. Other food were only ok. Dessert tables were a disaster ... ...
The service was ridiculous too. Plates were not taken away and water was no refilled unless you asked. A few of the servers came by the table to ask you if you wanted any extra drink, if you said no, they did not even talk empty plates away.
As one other reviewer mentioned that she was told that lobsters were almost ran out after the first seating, the Executive Chef should be fired. As all tables were by reservation, there was no walk-in. They knew how many people were in each seating. They should get enough food for everyone.
One thing I know is I will NOT return in the future and will tell everyone I...
Read moreWe were looking for a place for our university reunion where we can chit chat non-stop for a long time with little interruptions and we are happy we have picked Crave inside Sheraton for this occasion.
We are here for the a la carte menu on family day Monday as a group of 5. It took some time for food to be prepared but that does not bother us because we needed the time to chat. Our server came at appropriate times to check on us but otherwise let us sit and chat for as long as we wish.
Dishes are prepared fresh to order and all very appetizing as indicated by our empty plates. Price wise we think it is great value for money as we are inside a hotel comfortably sitting and don’t have to rush to give our table to the next round of customers.
That said, I will not consider coming if you are in a hurry - there are plenty of other choices in the area if you need to just grab and go. This is a place to slow down, enjoy the surrounding and have a fun time with important people who happens to be joining you.
Have...
