My friend who's a car mechanic heard about this place from his boss and in turn relayed the info to me that this place was really good. I'm a richmond hill local but I live a lil bit more south so this area around yonge and major mack I don't eat at often. I knew that it was in the same neck of the woods as Aneal's close by so I knew parking was gonna be tricky. Luckily, some quick googling informed me that there was public parking in the back behind the resto. I entered from what looked like the main entrance and my first impression was that there were maybe 2 tables to eat? I ordered a modified philly steak combo (came w/ fries and a drink). After placing my order, the girl who took my order guided me through a door next to the kitchen which led to the unit next door and it housed so many more seats! I was in awe of how much space the next door unit had. Looking at the menu, you can tell they not only serve lunch but also cafe items like waffles, tea, coffee, eggs. But their main claim to fame is the burgers and philly steaks. My philly steak looked magnificent. The bread was so soft on the inside but they toasted it on the outside so it had a nice light crunch. There was a ton of meat and goodies inside. The cheese was super fresh. Looking at these other reviews a lot of ppl have been questioning whether this philly steak is the best in toronto. I would absolutely put it in that conversation! The fries on the side weren't anything special imo. They were crispy, seasoned and had a dill/parmesan? sauce drizzled on top but they reminded me of mccain fries from costco haha (which there's nothing wrong with!) If you want fries, order one of the specialty poutines as you'll be more satisfied I think. But yea, I think next time, I'd skip the fries and drink because the combo came to ~$27!!!! which is crazy imo. I'm torn. The sandwich ALONE is definitely worth the $18 tag cuz of the massive amount of meat but I think the combo should be priced around $19-22. $27 is ridiculous and entering rip-off territory. I didn't get a chance to try a burger so I will have to come back for science purposes (the mushroom burger is calling my name lol).

Food: 1 Stars Service: 2 Stars Ambience: 2 Stars Value: 1 Stars Overall: 1.25 Stars My recent visit to Grill Gate was unfortunately very disappointing. I ordered the classic gourmet cheeseburger combo, while my boyfriend opted for the double patty mushroom cheeseburger. Both burgers were excessively salty, to the point where we couldn't finish them and we both only ate half of our burgers having to takeout the other. The buns were subpar, far from the quality one would expect. The french fries tasted like reheated McCain frozen fries, lacking any fresh or appeal. The service also left much to be desired. There was a significant communication barrier with the waitresses. We had to repeatedly ask for simple things like ice, which was provided in half-filled cups, and crispy bacon, which was served crumbled. When we requested two boxes for our leftovers, only one was brought out initially, and we had to ask again for a second box and a bag, which was frustrating and should not have been necessary. The only redeeming aspect of our meal was the tropical smoothie, which was quite enjoyable. However, considering the overall cost, the experience was not worth it. We noticed that other patrons were also drinking a lot of water and pop, and the table next to us complained about the excessive salt in their food as well. Reflecting on our experience, we regret not opting for a more reliable choice like McDonald's, as their burgers would have been more satisfying. In the past, we ordered takeout from Grill Gate, and I thought perhaps the in-restaurant dining experience would be better. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and I will not be returning. Despite the decent smoothie, the overall quality of the food and service was far below our expectations. kellychan360

Grill Gate is a heaven for the grilled food lovers. What started as the take-out joint in Richmond Hill has now gloriously expanded to 4 locations in the GTA with dine-in options including downtown and the recently opened on the Danforth Avenue. 🍽️🇨🇦 Our evening started with a pleasant surprise when we were served Raspberry Mojito Herbal ☕, with cookies. From this aromatic concoction, things took a meaty turn when the Philly Steak (the in-house favourite) and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich came to the table. They aren’t the run-of-the-mill filling stuffed in between bread slices. These sandwiches are mean! They are big, toasted baguettes loaded with meat, crispy onions and parsley, grilled magic mushrooms and a lot of mozzarella. It will fill you up right. 🍔🍖 Another store speciality is the Spicy Mushroom Cheeseburger. The 8-oz juicy beef patty layered with cheddar and mozza, peppers and mushrooms; stuffed between the softest warm buns, and crowned with fried hot pepper, rested majestically on the plate. We complemented this with crispy fries that were drizzled with the most amazing in-house made yogurt-garlic sauce. Add the fresh strawberry milkshake from their café to your order, and you have the perfect meal before you! 🍓🔥 To our surprise, Grill Gate also offers an appealing array of pizzas on their menu. Their Veggie pizza with eggplants, tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, aged cheddar and a delectable Turkish flavour, left us completely amazed! 🍕💯 If you are thinking Grill Gate is all about mighty sandwiches, burgers, and burritos, you’ll be delighted at their café’s wide range of sweet delights. Our recommendation – the Fragola! ✨❤️

So I am a huge fan of Grill Gate. I always recommend this place but only recommend their sandwiches when I do so. I have tried everything on their menu. I also forget to take pics each time. I’m only sharing my experiences and opinion with Grill Gate, which is always the exact same each and every time. Their menu extends from sandwiches to burritos, burgers and pizza. Personally I enjoy their sandwiches and as of recently their burgers are my new thing. This place started as a burger joint and in the beginning their burgers were over cooked and buns were off BUT they have stepped it up immensely.

The burgers are cooked perfectly. They are juicy and charbroiled. They are tender and falls apart in your mouth. The burger buns are fluffy, yet they have a nice crisp Exterior with sesame seeds. Please try the spicy mushroom. I repeat Please.

Today I ordered the Modified Philly Cheese Sandwich and the Pizza with beef brisket. The pizza is so thin and I wouldn’t consider it pizza more like a flat bread with hundreds of toppings and I love Persian style pizza if it’s done right but Grill Gates pizza is not my thing. I couldn’t eat it and eat almost anything.

The modified Philly cheese was fantastic. The bread is soft on the inside, flaky on the outside and topped with the sesame seeds. This bread combined together with any of their fillings they choose for their sandwiches is a deadly combo. The perfect partnership.

The sandwiches and Burgers are what keeps me coming back for more.

Like I said you need to come here don’t think about getting anything but their sandwiches and burgers.

The staff are a little cold in the beginning but they warm up to you eventually. It’s almost as if it’s an

One of the best Philly cheeses or take on a Philly cheese I have had in Ontario. One of the top burgers in York Region.

Bye The Way it’s worth checking out their cafe next door. Gate Cafe, there you will find warm welcoming smiles from the staff and a cool little spot for...
