Deeply disappointed!

Positives: Lots of parking spaces so no worries at all. Good size and fairly decorated restaurant for a family meal. Good looking menu with a lot of options Nice and friendly staff (most of them not all) Koobideh and Bonab Kebab were in standard size and had decent/standard taste (not the best in town) Tasty and fresh bread that was the best part of our meal Crunchy bread tahdig came with the rice which was a good move.

Negatives: Expensive restaurant (paid $90 before tax and tip for two people, cold starter platter itself costed us almost $28 which is really pricey for a starter), for this price range we expected at least Persian rice with our meal not Basmati. We dealt with 4-5 waiters or waitresses, didn’t know who is taking care of the table. They always didn’t know what the last person was supposed to bring or do for us. Our tap water never got a refill (no one cared) Second bread took at least 15min to come after we reminded them and they just put both containers on top of each other and left (but a delicious bread). Asked for eggs yolk to mix with rice (as an Iranian tradition) they said they don’t even have eggs?!?! Which is kind of hard to believe in a Persian kitchen (could have said they won’t serve as per their policy) I didn’t try Shishlix but my friend gave 6 out of 10 to it which is not a good rate. Smelly and very bad taste Barg kebab, the 2nd worst Barg I have ever had in Toronto. You had to put lots of sumac and lime and other things like olives together to make it eatable (Didn’t expect that poor quality at all). Worst part of the lunch was the lamb shank, literally worst of worst!!! I’m a big fan of lamb so no issues at all with lamb taste and smell as long as it’s well cooked and have a good taste. Can’t tell you enough how smelly it was without even a fair taste. I don’t know how they cooked it but I strongly recommend they remove this item from their menu as they have no idea how to cook this meal! Please Please Please if you are not good in a certain meal then simply don’t serve it, I assure you, you will be much more respected because of this honesty. Tip range started from 18% which is not fair and common, all other comparable restaurants start at max 15%. In the end we paid for two full meals but left the restaurant hungry as we could have just one skewer of Koobideh, the rest remained almost untouched due to the poor quality.

Note: After I paid the bill, gave them feedback about food and a servant nicely apologized many times which was nice, hope they take this feedback seriously.

Conclusion: I had heard so many good things about this restaurant and their food, services and their young and educated chef, even their google rating is really high, but we had a very bad experience both for services and food quality (hope it was just a bad day for them). If you ask me if I will go there again for a Persian food at this price my clear answer is NO, I Definitely...

First time to this place and not a great experience! When you look up this restaurant on the internet you’d think it’s a high end or a very good Persian restaurant; however, it’s NOT true!

This is not a restaurant, it’s a club which wrongly hired a good chef cause the food was good. I’m not sure why the chef working at this place as the atmosphere is horrible and do not represent a dining space. I think the chef deserves to get a job at an actual nice restaurant, not this place.

I went on the weekend and their music is so loud as if you are eating at Rebel or a club on king street getting drunk with bunch of kids. it’s so loud to the point which you are not able to speak/ hang out with your friends at the table. Just forget it.

I do regret for choosing this place to have a lovely time eating and talking with friends. To me, this is not a restaurant. It’s club starting at 7pm where they serve food. The hosts & hostesses were great, yet the service in terms of the music volume was extremely poor. In fact the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one is because of the hosts/ waiters. They were genuinely great. I asked the hosts to bring the volume down and I watched them delivering my request each time; however, nothing changed after 3 times asking. The DJ was either ignorant or had hearing issues. At the end, I complained and they stopped the music which I never asked for… I was only complained about the volume. Then the manager in charge came to me and said that our DJ got upset due my complaint which was very strange. Actually it sounded like a joke. I think this has something to do to the owner of the restaurant. The manager told me that the other table wants to party!!! Ok, great. They can go to a club at 7/8 pm, not a restaurant!!! I understand if a restaurant change the atmosphere after 9 or 10 pm, but common! During dining hours is completely wrong.

I’m not sure why I should not be upset as a customer after asking them to bring the volume down 3 times and being ignored then the DJ Is now upset for my one time complaint???!!! Plus, that’s not my problem! You have good reviews on the internet and your prices is showing that you should be offering a fairly nice dining and that’s my expectation if I come there. I expected that I am going to restaurant, not a crazy club!!!

When a customer choose your business over the internet reviews you should at least have honest reviews. I must say DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A RESTAURANT! This place is as loud as a club and it’s not a high end dining place. As much as the food is good you will never enjoy eating/ dining cause it’s like sitting in a club where no one can hear you even the hosts or the person sitting beside you while ordering Persian food.

It’s a great place to get drunk and party. I mean if you want to get drunk and party at 7pm and onward… I’m sure the owner of the restaurant can open such place which is great, but pls don’t fool people that it’s a nice dining...

Honestly I was looking forward to this restaurant after reading the reviews about the food and hearing so much about.

Honestly couldn't be more disappointed.

Food: The food wasnt bad, Above Average but the price is like its the best persian restaurant which it wasn't, I dont even mind paying extra for really good food but it wasn't.

The bread and the cream cheese with nuts they start your meal with was honestly the best, Amazing combo (6/5). Really high quality as well. I ordered Kashke Bademjan and that was also really good with the amazing bread (4/5)

However the kebab was the real disappointment Not seasoned well, meat tasted average quality and slightly even overcooked (compared to other persian restaurants). Huge disappointment for the money (3/5). The chillies were also not charred they were burnt, not the same thing.

Ambience: Awesome Ambience, nice clean modern design. (5/5)

Service: Like some of the other reviews here horrible servers absolutely horrible, to the point of being extremely rude. Since I was looking forward to going here post work I had not anything the whole day, but what do I get for that, constantly being told by some of the servers that I am "not eating the food correctly" ? What does that even mean? . No one even bothered to bring the bread again or water or even take my order for the first 15 mins. (-2/5)

Plus it just seemed super douchey. And They were passing comments when I didnt give them a tip (for which they didnt even try bare minimum)

Just support your local persian restaurants ( Im not even persian) that I feel like is true essence of this cuisine and actually better.

Just my 2 cents wouldn't come...

We booked a dreamy night and dinner at Naeb restaurant in Richmond Hill, Toronto! The Persian food was incredibly delicious, the staffs were warm and welcoming, and we experienced an excellent level of professionalism and customer service there! Having a portion of my life in the country of origin in Iran and spending part of it in the capital city; Tehran; the taste of the food, people, atmosphere, DJ and especially the staff: Ms. Sonia and Ms. Mahshid and the owner Mr. Sahand; at Naeb restaurant in Richmond Hill, Toronto reminded me those years at Iran and my best memories of dining in excellent native restaurants! I recommend this restaurant with lots of traditional Persian foods, including all of the Kabob menus, to every individual with a Persian/Farsi background in North America! The quality was excellent! The quantity was great too! I could not find any other places with the same money value compared to what I experienced at Naeb! Non-Persian/Iranian spouses that want to taste the real Persian food, Call Naeb today and reserve a spot for your next dinner! You will be happy! I'll guarantee that! For people interested in knowing about the Naeb brand, I have one sentence: They were the first Persian kabob in Iran! RIP the great Mr. Naeb Golam Hossein! You are in the memory of Iranians; the great job will never be forgotten as we saw the quality of your brand two days ago, more than 10,000 KM away from the homeland!

Excellent chicken leg kebab (Vaziri) and koobideh. Koobideh, in particular, was juicy but I would still go with chicken leg kebab. Lamb was way too pricey IMHO. You can find lamb cheaper at SARKO Georgian restaurant at Dufferin and Major Mackenzie Drive. The food itself was really good though. I would go back for the chicken alone. It was that good. I wish they served a proper salad on the side instead of that purple cabbage or whatever it was. I'm talking tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet onion, and salad leaves with some olive oil and salt. Shirazi salad was weird. Tiny cubes of cucumbers and tomatoes...who eats salad like that? Just do it the way Greeks, Georgians, or Italians do it. There's no need to chop your veggies so small. You're not feeding them to toddlers. The service was good. One of the girls working there does not speak proper English but that's ok. The other girl does. They were very courteous and friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. For dessert, I ordered baklava ($4.50) which was overpriced and just ok. Nothing special. They should find a better supplier. I recommend Nonna Amina Turkish Bakery at 7887 Weston Rd, Unit 22 in Woodbridge.
