Who can please a picky (discerning) eater? It's not an easy task, but Pizza Shab (پیتزا شب) in Richmond Hill has done just that. The first time my son and I came, we enjoyed the Bandari (بندری) pizza so much that we had to come back and get it again. The Bandari pizza is a deep-dish delicacy garnished with sliced Persian sausage, tomato sauce, onions, green peppers, mozzarella. We opted to upgrade from the 8" small pizza to the 10" medium pizza, and it was more than enough for a hungry father and son. The pizza is fairly expensive, but we felt we got good value for the money. The ingredients were distinct and delicious (love the flavour of the Persian sausage), the cheese was abundant and generous. The deep-dish crust was both light, clean (not oily) and flaky with good, moderate thickness. My little one even took the crust away from me to keep for himself. (A child liking crust? It must be good.) The service on our first visit was really welcoming, and the second visit was the same. Both times, Zahra took care to prepare the patio for us, and she taught us how to write her name in the Persian-Dari alphabet (زهرا - I hope this is right?). Pizza Shab in Richmond Hill is also a very popular late-night hang-out spot, especially during the summer - and for good reason. (I believe "Pizza Shab" might translate to: "Night Pizza" - so the name fits.) Looking forward to visit number three. P.S. The new sign is very nice.

I’ve been always a Pizza Lover so when I first came to Toronto, I was so excited to try the pizzas here. Unfortunately, my very first experiences with a couples of famous Pizza stores were so bad that I didn’t have pizzas for a while even tho my craving was killing me. But love always find a way. One day when I was hungry waiting for my friends, I stopped by Pizza Shab cause they were the only restaurant opened at that time. Tbh, I wasn’t expecting any lucks due to my previous experience with pizza in Toronto. But then I obsessed with their Pizza immediately and I was so happy like finding money in old jacket’s pocket lol. I’ve been eating here a lot but these are all pictures that I have cause I always can’t wait to enjoy the pizza lmao. I know they open a couples more branches all over Toronto but I always come back to the Richmond hill one even I have to drive for 40mins cause this is where I fell in love again with Pizza. Thank you so much. Merci. Douset Daram!! 🥰🥰

First night trying Pizza Shab, and honestly? I feel emotionally full. Not just my stomach — my soul got fed too. I ordered the Supreme Pizza with sausage and salami, and from the moment I saw the name “Topol” (which means “chubby” in Persian), I knew I was spiritually aligned with this place. Like… the pizza and I understood each other. The taste? A certified teleportation device to Iran. One bite and I was hearing Persian music, feeling the Tehran breeze, and thinking, “wow, even the salami here got feelings.” I went with a medium, which was almost enough — but let’s be real, I’m basically built like a deluxe XL combo meal, so next time, I’m going full beast mode and getting a large. If you’re hungry, homesick, or just tired of your diet judging you, get this pizza. It won’t just feed you — it’ll make you Topol, proud, and possibly write a review like this one. Bonus: I was so full, I had to roll myself to bed like a meatball. 10/10, would chew again.

I have been a customer of this place since they opened long time ago at Byng Ave. Loved their pizza and ordered it in many occasions including for my non Iranian friends. But tonight’s experience made me so disappointed that not only I do not want to order from them ever again but also to come here to write my awful experience .

I was very busy past 6-7 months and did not order from Pizza Shab but My Brother (who is not comfortable talking in Farsi) called in to order pizza for his birthday tonight. He wanted to order 4 large pizza which came to over $100, and he was asked to provide deposit for the order! I have never heard of a business to take deposit for a take out order over the phone. Anyway I took the phone and told them I have never been asked for this from any business including them, so they decided not to charge us the deposit.

Anyway we ended up ordering 2 more large pizza totalling 6 large pizza. Ooooooh my god, what happened to these pizza’s?! Why do they look like pizza pizza now? There is nothing on the pizza compare to before. The quality has dropped significantly and it is a shame. You did great for so many years and your pizza was not ever cheap, opened so many other locations and become big. So now that you have the client base, you dropped the quality?! Very very bad business decision.

I will not be going back as the quality of the food is awful now. Pizza pizza give you much...

I have been attending this store and it’s sister store in North York for some time now. I have never had a bad experience and the food has always been great.

During my latest visit, I ordered one medium pizza and fries. I waited for an excessive amount of time while other customers came in ordered and left with their food.

When I enquired of the store employee as to the reason for the delay, he began to blame it on me as the customer that I had not enquires sooner and it was my fault that the food was delayed....

The employee continued to be condescending and unapologetic for making me wait that entire time, only to blame me at the end.

To say the least I was not happy and very much disappointed. I asked for my money back.

Hopefully the management of the store reads this review and recognizes that this particular employee might need some training or advise on what are some of the basics of customer service and basic human respect.

PS: as of August 20th, 2021 I have not seen or heard a response from the management of this establishment. I guess they only choose to respond to their positive feed backs. Shows lots of care...
