---------------------------------------------------- Mamma Mia, is THIS a great place!! ---------------------------------------------------- As anyone living in or near Markham knows, there's a large complex of excellent restaurants on York Boulevard near the intersection of East Beaver Creek and Highway 7. The competition amongst these restaurants is fierce, and Scaddabush stands out as one of my favourites, if not my most favourite. I've been here several times over the years, and the food, service and ambience are consistently terrific. I had lunch here on a weekday - it was too hot to sit on the patio (which was unfortunate as it looks very nice), so I was seated inside. The decor is unique and upscale, yet functional. I would describe it as modern high-end industrial-Italian chic. It's a massive place - several thousand square feet. It would take an hour to walk through all the tables. Although it's a large place, it has a homey, casual feel. I started with the Caesar salad, which was fresh and delicious. I ordered a small one, but I guess "small" in Italian means "large" because it was a good size. For the main course, I had the Sophia pizza, which has roasted chicken, pecorino alfredo sauce, goat cheese, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, roasted garlic, fresh basil, and basil oil. And yes, it was as tasty as it sounds - cheesy and soft on top and crispy on the bottom. The goat cheese paired especially well with the chicken - absolutely delicious, and also enormous - almost the size of my upper thigh. I like how they give you industrial-strength pizza scissors to cut it up. Although massive, it was so tasty I had to finish it, although it took me quite a while to consume it all. (None of this "doggy bag" nonsense.) My waitress, Stephanie, was terrific. She epitomizes the 3 F's in all excellent wait staff: Fast, Focused and Friendly. I was seated promptly, and the food arrived within minutes. She checked in on me regularly. If there were an Olympics for waitressing, she'd win multiple gold. Thank you, Stephanie! The combination of fresh, high-quality food, excellent service and a warm, funky environment makes this place exceptional. As the Italians say: "Tornerò" - I will return.

I recently visited Scaddabush in Richmond Hill with a friend for dinner, and overall, we had a great time — with just one hiccup that held me back from giving a full 5 stars. Let’s start with the positives: the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and it was perfectly cooked — crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and generously topped with rich tomato sauce and melted cheese. The portion size was satisfying without being overwhelming, and the side of pasta paired nicely with the dish. My friend went with the Chicken Pesto Pasta, which also hit the mark. The pasta was fresh, and the pesto sauce had a great balance of flavor — creamy, garlicky, and not overly oily. You could tell the ingredients were fresh, and the dish had that comforting, homemade Italian vibe Scaddabush is known for. The ambiance of the restaurant was relaxed but lively, with a modern yet cozy interior. It felt like a great spot for both casual nights out and slightly more special occasions. Now for the part that brought the experience down a bit: our server. While service throughout the meal was generally fine in terms of timing and efficiency, the male server who was assigned to our table made a few comments toward the end of our meal that felt a little inappropriate and off-putting. It seemed like he was trying too hard to be overly friendly or “charming,” likely in hopes of securing a tip — but it crossed into territory that felt unprofessional and made things a bit uncomfortable, especially as it happened right when we were paying. It wasn't anything extreme, but definitely enough to stand out and leave a less-than-great final impression. That said, I’m still giving this location 4 stars because the food really was excellent, and I’d absolutely come back for the quality of the dishes alone. I just hope management reminds staff to keep things professional, especially during payment time — a good meal deserves a smooth and respectful end.

Came here to celebrate my birthday with a few friends, as I love coming out to Scaddabush HUGE NOTE: I would definitely make sure you have the Inspire Rewards app prior to coming!!!! Not only is it super easy to make a reservation, but there are many perks that you get to use (You get a free birthday dessert!) Food: - Definitely get yourself a fresh mozzarella any time you’re here! They are always so delicious and one of the reasons I love this restaurant! We got the Naked mozzarella for the table - Caesar salad was delicious and crunchy, not over seasoned by dressing and bacon bits - Calamari Fritti is always amazing, I love the portion size as a shareable app for the table! - For pasta, I chose the Mushroom Truffle Mafalde! It was delicious and the fresh pasta always makes it that much better! Definitely a heavier pasta but a must try! Service: - Trish was our server and she was amazing! From checking on us and making sure our orders arrived okay, she definitely made my birthday dinner all the more enjoyable. Atmosphere: - It can definitely get a bit loud from time to time (especially during sports games), but it wasn’t a bother to my friends and I as it felt like a very casual place where there are small dinners between friends and/or family, or larger groups such as coworkers, rec sports teams, or a large friend group gathered to celebrate something special together! Thanks to Trish and others around our area, so many people ended up singing happy birthday to me and despite my introverted personality, it definitely was very memorable and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious food and a fun place to celebrate with friends!

Come here with your family, friends, and colleagues if you want to eat good Italian food in a vibrant environment. ( If you want mash potatoes, that won’t be here so think Italian food, but you can get fries). The service here is excellent and if you’re lucky to have Brandon as your server, you will get top notch service delivered with the kind of care that makes you feel extra special. This restaurant is always busy so it’s best to have a reservation, but I got a seat cause I didn’t mind waiting a bit. Though the place is busy, we didn’t wait long to get her food, so special shout out to the kitchen staff. I was watching them hustle and bustle in the kitchen. ( cause it’s open and you can watch them as they cook the meals). The bar was busy so getting a drink required a bit of patience, so I sipped on water while waiting. Though I dined on a Tuesday evening, it was still a full house. This place is always full cause those who know, know that the food is bussin’. You won’t be disappointed. Everything that was ordered was delivered just as expected and we had no complaints. Don’t go looking for bread on the table though, cause this Italian restaurant don’t give any for free. But hey, water on the table is free though. Also, you can order some good garlic bread for a nominal fee. Don’t sleep on their gigantic meatball. The inside is juicy and tasty. Overall, it was a good experience, my crew and I stayed long, ate good, and left with full bellies. I always return because I never regret spending my money here

It is a great spot for pasta and pizza. The atmosphere is casual and lively, even at lunchtime, so reservations are recommended. I tried their Tuscany special menu, but of course, dessert came first—TUSCAN GELATO CAKE with pistachio gelato, hazelnut cake, liquor-soaked cherries, and crushed pistachios. The only thing I didn’t love was the cherries, but the overall texture and layers of the gelato cake were perfect. The CHERRY NEGRONI was basically a classic Negroni, though I skipped the cherry again. For appetizers, I had the SPINACH & RICOTTA DUMPLINGS, which I really enjoyed because I love classic spinach dip, and these dumplings were rich but not overwhelming. One disappointment was the 3 Cheese Truffle Charity Bread. It was supposed to be made with focaccia, but based on the texture and air pockets, it felt more like a really good garlic bread. When I asked the server, they said that’s just how their focaccia is… which left me a bit puzzled. I know some focaccia is made thick, but should it really be this soft? On the other hand, their pizza was much better—the crust was actually closer to focaccia, with just the right amount of elasticity and oiliness. The crisp exterior and chewy interior were perfectly balanced, so if you like focaccia, just go for the pizza. The pasta is a must-order and one of their signature dishes. Creamy carbonara with bacon and a soft-boiled egg, paired with perfectly cooked pasta—it’s hard to go wrong with that!

I thought I had already reviewed this gem of a restaurant, but it turns out I hadn't, so here I am rectifying that oversight! This Italian restaurant in Toronto is undoubtedly one of the city's best. I've been here several times, drawn back each time by its captivating ambiance and uniquely beautiful decor. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a cozy Italian villa with its warm lighting, rustic touches, and stunning artwork adorning the walls. The attention to detail in the decoration truly enhances the dining experience, making it feel like a special occasion every time. And the food? Oh, it's beyond delicious! Whether it's the mouthwatering spaghetti with shrimp in alfredo sauce, with added mushrooms for an extra burst of flavor (my personal favorite!), or the incredible pizzas that you get to cut yourself with their special scissors – every bite is a delight. Don't even get me started on their fresh mozzarella and bread appetizer – it's a must-try! The place is always bustling with activity, which adds to the charm of the dining experience. A piece of advice: make reservations ahead of time unless you're okay with a bit of a wait. But trust me, it's worth it! Overall, it's a fantastic spot for a memorable family meal or a romantic evening out. Can't wait to go back! And here we are again, tonight again visiting, Chris was serving us and did a great job 🥰 thanks …
