I recently came here for the first time for lunch on a weekend. Right off the bat, the first thing you notice is there parking system where it state “ no free parking, please insert your license plate in the iPad” Maybe they’ve had issues in the past with people parking for long periods of time, but it was still a bit strange to me. The second thing I noticed was the strong smell of smoke within the restaurant. I mean that can’t be good for anyone. I really wish they had some ventilation installed above the grills to help with the air quality. This is also NOT a good place for vegetarians, as 90% of the items are meat. We did the AYCE lunch special and it came out to be $24.88 each Side note, they charge you a Service Charge of 10% and then also ask you to tip your server on top of that. Meat is well marinated, they offer Ribs, Pork, Beef Slices & Chicken. As well as an unamed Thin Fish, Calamari and Tofu . The Beef slices were the best items in my opinion; they were thin and tasty. I just wish they would add prawns to their lunch menu. If you order sides like veggies, bean sprouts, or rice. You should know that the veggies are completely raw, no seasoning. The sprouts are not fresh, but kind of pickled and the rice is your standard plain rice. Service was fairly good, the staff were attentive and quick. Overall it was a cool first experience, but highly unlikely I will return. There honestly wasn’t a “wow” factor here and it didn’t really feel worth paying what we got out of it.

I went to chako as a nice treat with me and the peeps cause I wanted to have a good time with good vibes and even better food. The food was really good, not anything too crazy cause obviously it’s bbq meat. The side dishes were really good I love my kimchi but the one thing I didn’t like was the service. The workers were pretty rude and not really attentive as they were to other tables. We saw that when other tables grills were getting really charred they would automatically replace it but when it happened to ours they didn’t we had to ask them. Nothing wrong with that but I thought that was odd. Then when we would order the food the lady kinda like threw it on the table. Obviously not like straight up threw it but like she put it on the table didn’t even give a glance and it slammed on the table to the point where the meat juices fell out of it too. I thought that was really rude. They weren’t really busy enough to be treating us this was so it was confusing. It was good food but the service was very disappointing. Also very pricey so get ready to empty ur wallet 😞

I haven't been to Chako in years, and the place is a lot better than I remembered! My friends and I chose the premium menu because it's only $8 more than the regular, and we get more variety. I was surprised they had sushi and sashimi on their menu... even more so after realizing the quality was good! For roughly 5 bucks, I got to have refillable soft drinks as well! I was impressed with the premium ribs and striploin! It's definitely worth the extra $8. The chicken thigh, however... was meh. The staff were attentive and easy to get a hold of, and the restaurant looks way better than I recalled. Parking is terrible in that area... my friend reserved for 7pm on a Thursday evening, and we had to circle around the parking lot and its surrounding area countless times before securing a spot. I'm assuming it's like that every day, so be sure to arrive early to find parking.

** Response to manager's reply to my review:

Dear Lambert,

Thank you for your prompt response and for taking the time to investigate the situation.

I would like to clarify that we acknowledged our mistake during the first round of orders. The issue actually arose during this first round, as we hadn’t yet ordered our second round. The server informed us about the mistake while we were still on the first round, expressing disappointment when she noticed that two of the items were from the “Classic Menu.”

When we placed our first-round order, it was a large order meant to feed everyone at the table. This may have been mistaken for a second round, but it was, in fact, still our first. We corrected our mistake before placing our second-round order, though by then, we were already feeling uncomfortable due to the server’s attitude.

I hope this helps clarify what happened from our perspective.

Best regards, Kristen

Honestly, I have been coming to this location for years, but unfortunately, the service I experienced earlier today was disrespectful. I was there for a special occasion with my family, and the lady working there was extremely rude, ruining our special day. Despite our mistake in ordering from the wrong menu, which we acknowledged and apologized for, she continued to speak to us in a condescending tone.

Initially, she approached our table to inform us that we had ordered from the wrong menu. We understood and corrected our mistake. However, when she returned to pick up the empty trays, she looked disappointed and accused us of ordering incorrectly again, even though we hadn’t finished the first round. Her communication was unclear from the start, but we followed her instructions once clarified.

Her attitude soured, and within 30 minutes, her service went from okay to outright disrespectful. She gave us dirty looks and spoke to us as if we were dumb, which ruined our appetite, leading us to decide against ordering more food even though it was an all-you-can-eat service after the first round.

Despite our polite demeanor and apologies, her behavior was uncalled for. Servers or anyone working in customer service should not treat customers disrespectfully, but you should also know the difference if a customer is taking advantage or just pure on courteous. If Chako trains their servers like this, then that’s crazy! I understand the need to handle upset customers or those who need more clarification, but you shouldn’t treat a customer disrespectfully at all, especially if they’re being polite. Additionally, I noticed she was wearing AirPods while speaking to us, raising her voice even higher and she spoke to another server in their language, stopping abruptly when I looked at them. If I ever return, I will not tolerate such disrespectful...

I'm delighted to share my recent wonderful experience at Chako Restaurant located at Highway 7 and 404. The positive changes I noticed during my visit truly made it an exceptional dining outing.

First and foremost, I am pleased to report a significant improvement in the restaurant's ventilation system. It's evident that they have taken steps to enhance the airflow, ensuring that the dining area remains free from any lingering food odors. This change greatly contributes to a more pleasant and comfortable dining environment.

The quality of the food was remarkably noticeable. Each dish we enjoyed was a testament to the dedication and skill of the culinary team. It's clear that they take great pride in crafting flavorful and satisfying meals, and the results were truly impressive.

The introduction of an app-based menu system was a game-changer in streamlining the dining experience. Not only did it facilitate quicker and more efficient service, but it also provided us with a user-friendly way to explore the menu and make our selections.

The recent renovations, particularly the updated tables and stoves, have injected a vibrant and positive energy throughout the restaurant. The ambiance is now even more inviting, and it's evident that the establishment is committed to creating a pleasant and enjoyable space for their guests.

I must also commend “Joice” the lady at the front desk for her exceptional hospitality. Her warm welcome, professionalism, and positive attitude contributed to making our visit truly memorable.

Our group of 11 people gathered at Chako Restaurant last week to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the experience was nothing short of excellent. The combination of great food, inviting ambiance, and attentive service made it a special occasion for all of us. In fact, we were so impressed that we have already decided to return this week to celebrate my dad's birthday – a testament to the high level of satisfaction we experienced.

I am genuinely elated with the positive changes and outstanding service I encountered at Chako Restaurant. It's heartwarming to know that they are dedicated to continually enhancing the dining experience for their patrons. I eagerly look forward to my next visit and can't wait to create more wonderful memories.

As a recommendation, I would add alcoholic drinks to the app-based menu similar to the food so they can be ordered without calling the servant.

Thank you, Chako Restaurant, for making dining such a joyous and...

Hey Family,

Is my review of Chaka BBQ & Izakaya. I visited with some friends on February 25, 2023 and below is my personal experience.

If you're looking for a unique dining experience that allows you to take charge of your meal, then the Grill-it-yourself Asian BBQ spot is the place to be! This restaurant offers a wide variety of seafood and meat options, both exotic and familiar, that you can grill to perfection on your own tableside grill.

One of the standout features of this restaurant is the freshness of the ingredients. The menu includes everything from shrimp, various beefs, chicken, and pork. .

In addition to the grill-it-yourself options, this restaurant also has an impressive sushi menu. The sushi is expertly prepared and beautifully presented. If you're a sushi lover, be sure to try some of their signature rolls like the spicy tuna or California roll.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is relaxed and inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they are more than happy to provide guidance on grilling times and techniques. The restaurant is also a great place to gather with friends or family, as the grill-it-yourself aspect of the meal encourages conversation and interaction.

Overall, the Grill-it-yourself Asian BBQ spot is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and fun dining experience. The fresh ingredients, delicious food, and inviting atmosphere make it a great spot for a night out with friends, a special occasion, or even a solo meal.

The only issue we had is with parking. This is no fault to the restaurant however this could impact a repeat visit as we don't want to spend 15 minutes waiting for a parking spot.

All in all, I give this place...
