TERRIBLE. Would give 0 stars if we could. We made a reservation for 1830 for 4 people and arrived accordingly. Initially seated in the corner table, we were then asked to move to another smaller table to make way for a group of 5. Trying to be nice, we agreed and moved to the smaller table. So it was a swap as we were told the smaller table could not seat 5. What followed, showed blatant disorganization and just poor management and customer service.
Once seated at the smaller table, we noticed that the table right next to us, that is the same size, could in fact seat 5 people. There were 5 customers in the adjacent table. THEN, we looked back at the table we just moved from and saw that there were only 3 people!!! Why the hell did you ask us to move then? We were willing to be displaced out of kindness to help out the restaurant staff but then we see that they simply messed up their own seating and lied to us to get us out of the corner table! It’s not like we were walk ins. We reserved online for the correct number of guests. This is outrageous.
The service - oh yes things are slow as hell and their ordering system has a mind of its own. It may or may not register so you never know if you’ll get your food. It looks like the wait staff are trying their best but this place is clearly mismanaged. ESPECIALLY BY THE INCOMPETENT AND RUDE “manager” WORKING CASH UPFRONT. She was in a pink robe that Saturday evening. You clearly don’t know what you’re doing and it shows. Just own up to your mistakes and provide proper customer service instead of coming up with garbage excuses when confronted about misallocated seating. And stop blaming your staff when they are just telling you what to do and getting the flack for it. You will run this business into the ground if you don’t figure it out. DO BETTER.
It’s a shame because the food is actually good but the experience is otherwise HORRIBLE. DO...
Read moreThis place is an AYCE hotpot restaurant that focuses on Sichuan spices, which basically means the food is going to hurt your butt afterwards, and it's completely worth it.
My partner and I went in on a Saturday evening without a reservation and it took roughly an hour on the waitlist before we got seated. The price is about $50+/person after tax and tip, which is pretty in line with the other AYCE hotpot restaurants in the area (such as Liuyishou).
The internal atmosphere and aesthetic is quite reminiscent of being in a bustling inner city restaurant, with nice decor. The male restroom was relatively clean which leads me to believe that the female one is pristine. There's a basket for your jackets so they don't smell like hotpot for the next week.
The food was quite on point, and most of the flavour will be in the soup + the sauces that you get to create yourself. They have a soft serve machine that unfortunately I didn't get to try due to my food baby threatening to kill me. The host of the night promised that the ice cream would have been delicious... Sad...
The service was slow at times since there seemed to be a few new people on the wait staff, but that's alright. Most of the ordering is done through a QR code scan, so just don't need extras like a slotted spoon... Or napkins... And you're golden !
Jokes aside though, it was a great experience and enjoyable for my stomach- although I can't say the same...
Read moreThe food slices are too large to chew, even the bamboo shoots they cut into one large piece, they should have a option on the menu whether the customer want a slice like that. For the table setting they don’t have a filter spoon prepared for each table, they put the water on the side table you might mention it finally when you finished the meal. They only have one chopsticks pre-person, actually the raw meats and boiled meats needs to be separated into two sets of chopsticks, a long set and a short set. They need to scan the QR code for the menu, the server won’t explain to you it requests the customer a great observation and highly-understanding.The server took away the empty plate very fast, when they have the dish on the table they don’t explain how to do with the meats and white liquid, you need to ask like a student. Also the cooker controller maybe on the side of the table where we can’t see, the hotpot soup easily goes sticky and spatter, at the same time they refill the hotpot soup very slow even they have many servers around. Still got a bit expects to this hot pot, hope its...
