Came in for breakfast with a large group called and made a reservation . Took 20 min for someone to just come to the table. Then a server comes to the table very unpleasant and messy looking and not pleasant at all. We asked for waters and coffee and ordered pancakes for kids (6) and this took 1 hr along with the water and coffees. Kids finally get the pancakes they are so dry and tasteless. All coffee mugs x6 were dirty asked for clean cups he brings them to table and we said what are we going to do with empty cups? He wanted us the dump our coffee into the clean cups. This is now 1.5hrs of being there we are all still waiting for our food it comes out one persons meal about 5-10min another’s persons food. We could not believe how long this was taking. As we are sitting there in disbelief we went up to waiter and said cancel 3 of our orders for this is absolutely ridiculous how long it is taking he said what do you Expect your a group do you want me to Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo and the food is ready? First of all, who speaks like this to people. Then we are told by the server that the manager said he will give us a discount on those three dishes and we said we do not want the food after two hours of waiting filthy cups a very rude waiter and the food that ended up coming out, looked like garbage . Many tables were getting up and leaving for they were not even being served. There were several tables full of old dishes and food that were still not cleaned up from when we walked in to when we left. There was one server and one cook in the kitchen. I have no idea how this establishment is still open. The worst service I have ever experienced and the most disgusting looking food. As an establishment, you should be ashamed. Do not come and waste a...

My family and I decided to start our day at Sunny Side Grill in Richmond Hill, having been lured in by its good reviews. Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to the positive remarks.
From the get-go, we noticed a lack of attention to detail and customer service. Our waiter nonchalantly tossed menus at an empty corner of our table, two for a party of three, which felt dismissive and set a negative tone for our visit.
Our drink order was similarly neglected with two coffees and an apple juice being placed at the same vacant corner. It felt as if we were having to reach for our experience rather than it being offered to us with a welcoming hand.
When it came to our food, the errors continued. We ordered waffles adorned with fresh fruits but received them smothered in jam and bereft of any fruits. The presentation was far from the appeal we have encountered at other brunch places, further tarnishing our experience.
Moreover, despite being the only patrons at the time, we had to endure a long wait to pay our bill. This lack of attentiveness really rounded off a brunch that fell far short of expectations.
All in all, our first experience at Sunny Side Grill was, regrettably, a disappointment. It's unfortunate to report that the positive reviews we read beforehand didn't translate into our experience. Here's hoping that the restaurant can address these issues and align reality...
Read moreService is very important to me and my family which is why I give 'Sunnyside Grill' a 4 star rating (I rarely, rarely, rarely ever give 5 stars).
I was impressed that the staff was able to get the small stuff right, which a lot of other breakfast restaurants just can't seem to figure out. Things like greeting our small kids with a big hello, asking if we require a high chair, bringing paper and crayons to keep our kids occupied, making sure the hot coffee isn't placed down in front of our 3-year old (it's shocking at the number of restaurants that haven't figured this out ...), bringing small plates for our kids to eat off of, placing the food in front of mom and dad because the servers knew we would be the ones divvying up the food for our kids. Pretty extensive list of things that they got right! There's more but I won't bore you with the details.
Oh, and did I mention that the food is delicious as well???
Just a couple of recommendations to improve the establishment (1) add more decor. I think adding pieces of nice artwork will make the atmosphere significantly better and (2) Ensure everything is stocked properly, especially on a Saturday morning. The paper towels in the bathroom were empty (no air dryer available) and I think it's important that customers are able to clean up properly before eating their meal.
Overall, great job. Me and my family will definitely...
