This is something Owl of Minerva management will have to consider about their customer service. But I highly appreciate the taste of their food. I am sharing this experience I had when I went there for the second time. Date - 31st March 2024 and time was around 7pm. We were served by a nice young lady and she was very disciplined. But when I went to pay the bill, I understood that there’s a separate tip box and my bill was about $38 odd. I gave her $100 and she gave me 1x$50,2x$5 and coins. As she only gave $1 coin with 25 cent coin I firstly put $1 coin in to the tip box. I didn’t want to put any cent as I had more $1,$2 coins in my wallet so I just wanted to take my wallet out of my pocket. But before that, the old lady who was at cashier laughed and asked is it 25 cents in sarcastic way. It was not polite at all and I felt embarrassed. Then I showed her the 25cent coin in my hand to let her know that I didn’t put any cent into the tip box and then I put $3 more into the tip box asking is it enough for her. I think $4 tip is enough for a $38 bill. But her attitude towards tips was very bad and it made me embarrassed after a good meal. That lady who’s craving for tips should be definitely trained for customer service before she makes another customer unhappy. Specially when they’re from a different origin than Owl of Minarva’s as Canada is a multicultural country. We love Korean food and their culture that’s the sole reason for visiting it multiple times. But now we have to think of going...

We went there for the first time tonight since our normal spot Bueokae was really busy and we couldn't wait. We decided to give Owl a try since it's a franchise and have been around for a long time. I'm not sure if all the locations is owned by the same person, but this location was quite bad. We ordered pork bone soup, seafood pancake, Pork cutlet and etc. Food was served in plastic bowls and plates reasoning was covid, kinda lame excuse but wateva. There was absolutely no flavor in any of the dishes we ordered, pork bone soup tasted like chicken broth from a can with pork bone, pork cutlet was not tender and tasteless, pancake was thick and soft not crispy at all. Kim chi and side dishes tasted really sour and again no flavor, Kim Chi sold at any local supermarket would have a better chance. One of the male servers was quite rude as well, when I said excuse me to get his attention, he replied "What" although he kinda corrected himself I thought it was very unprofessional and needs to be trained. The icing on the cake is now my wife has diarrhea. I would give it 0 🌟 if possible. Not going back...

I had the birthday lunch with dad at this restaurant, I ordered a pork bone soup, dad ordered a rice mixed with the spicy sauce, vegetables, eggs, the beefs, the few side dishes were served, and they were all delicious. Also, I did the take out, I ordered beef, chicken, shrimp, fried rice, the spicy tofu soup, the soy sauce, the seasoned fried chickens, the fried chicken pork cutlets, the rice cake soup, the chicken noodle soup, the boiled porks, pig feet with some vegetables, the soy bean paste sauce, the salted shrimp sauce, the spicy chicken, pork, the stir fried glass noodle rice, the oxtail soup, and the spicy chicken iron plate. Most of the dishes were served with an one bowl of white rice, the two dipping sauces, the side dish - kimchi, all of the dishes, rices, and the side dish - kimchi were super delicious. The staff members were extremely kind, so dad gave tips when dad, I dined in. The restaurant was clean, and organized. I would love to come back to this restaurants, they more menus that never tried before for the...

I’ve been to this Owl location in Richmond Hill on multiple occasions over the years. While menu prices have steadily increased, the Korean flavors here are still among the better ones nearby. After all, the Owl chain is among the original Korean food in the city. The go-to is still the Pork Bone Soup in either individual portions or the family hotpot style that feeds 2-3 people. I also enjoyed the heat of the spicy squid sizzling plate which came in a generous portion. Both of these and many other dishes come with rice. Side dishes tended to be slight let-downs, as the house kimchi didn’t taste great here. I was also surprised they ran out of bibimbap when we tried to order it initially. The service here is straight to the point without the customary friendliness at some other Owl locations. The interior is clean although on the smaller side. It has one door straight into the interior which gets chilly. Fortunately Korean food is hot comfort food.

Always busy, and a local favorite. The food here is pretty consistent. And the place is always busy. Sometimes it's hard to find a parking spot, and one can expect a line up at meal times. Overall, the food here isn't all that different from any other Korean food restaurants. I've had better and had worse. Food is very salty, but then again what Korean restaurant isn't? Prices here are on the more expensive side as far as Korean restaurants of this type go. You'll probably find better value in First Markham Place food court - especially for gamjatang. Owl of Minerva also has a line of retail ready meals at some Asian grocery stores. It has also been made more famous by the shooting at the Yonge and Finch location.

The pork katsu with rice is nice. The fried pork is crispy. The flour surface is thin. The meat is of good quality. The sweet and sour sauce for the katsu is well balanced. Instead of pouring on the katsu and undoing crispy surface, it is served in a separate small container. This reflects that the chef attends to details. Also appreciate very much that furikake / rice seasoning is applied. What impresses me most is the lemon dressing on the salad. This makes the salad strikingly refreshing in particular in the late summer. The attendants are friendly. (We spent almost two hours there but they were friendly throughout the meal). The environment is also good. A delightful experience in dining at this restaurant .
