I don’t know what to say about this place. This was my first time and the last time.

We booked a private room for a special occasion to celebrate one of the family members' special moments. We called and booked the room, given notice min. spend $250. That’s fine.

We ordered from a set menu, the price on the menu was roughly $350. Can’t remember the exact price. I thought the amount of people we had, and the amount of dishes could work out.

Over the years, I have been to many places. The waitress normally helped to scoop out the soup for us, but in this place when we waited and asked the waitress. They said, “Do it yourself”! Fine. I understand you’re busy, not a problem, I do it myself!

Next, each of the dishes was over-seasoned, with lots of salt. I can’t taste the freshness of the food. The quality was terrible. While we were eating, I pointed out to the waitress. The reaction was “OH” and walked away.

If we needed any server assistance, like adding more water, changing dishes, napkins, all that stuff… I had to stand outside the room and even when the waitress saw me, they ignored me. I was holding a teapot in my hand. Just looked at me! Waited for at least 5min in the hallway to get someone’s attention.

They never come and check in with us. Like the basic bare minimum simple services, none of those.

Overall, the services & food were horrible. We spent roughly around $685. Close to $700 and got treated that way, poorly!

I understand your restaurant policy has a mandatory 15% tip for private rooms, but please please please…make sure your restaurant also provides that amount of service and...

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant, which I believe is the worst service I have encountered in Toronto. The staff were exceptionally rude, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere from the start. All the utensils and glasses provided were visibly dirty, raising serious concerns about the restaurant's hygiene standards.

When I requested that a glass be cleaned, the server washed only the single glass I handed over, ignoring the remaining dirty items on the table. This lack of thoroughness and attention to detail is unacceptable in any dining establishment. Additionally, the staff did not properly inspect or present the food, and any requests for assistance were met with curt and discourteous responses.

The food was terrible; the rice was undercooked. They gave me a duck coupon, but I wasn’t allowed to take it to-go. Instead, they insisted I had to come back to the restaurant to redeem it.(While nothing’s written on the coupon.)

To add to the frustration, the restaurant imposed a 15% gratuity, calculated after tax, meaning we were essentially paying a tip on the tax amount as well. The food cost around 1400 for food. And 1600cad after tax. They require 350cad as tips. This practice is highly unreasonable and unjustified given the poor service quality.

Based on this experience, I will never return to this restaurant and strongly advise others to avoid it. The service was not worth the inflated cost, and the overall experience was profoundly disappointing. I would give 0/100 for...

I have never been to Yang's fine Chinese cuisine even though they open for a long time already. Upon arrival, everyone has to take the temperature check before entering the dining room. This is similar to Yu Seafood.  We were seated immediately by the manager since the restaurant is not particular full and the manager offered 10% discount for paying cash, seems like they want to attract some new customers. The tables are 2m apart but there are no plastic board in between the table.  We ordered har gow with foie gras, scallop dumpling with black truffle, steamed beef ball, bbq pork bun, steamed beef tripe, steamed curry squid, salted egg yolk bun, fried bread stick wrapped with rice noodle, and egg tart.  The ingredients are fresh, but the presentation is more on the traditional side, not as fancy as Yu Seafood.  The scallop dumpling is my favorite out of all because the foie gras enrich the taste of the dumpling. The curry sauce in fact is better than most other restaurant, while the salted egg yolk bun is on par with some other high end restaurants. One downside is the steamed bbq pork bun is not as good as Skyview fusion cuisine. It is a little bit dry inside the bun. The manager is a very nice person and willing to take opinion from customers, however, it seems they are lack of service because we only see one manager and one waitress running around the whole restaurants. Overall, I will go back to have couple of their...

I have eaten at several yum cha or as Americans call it dim sum places and my family is Chinese with some Cantonese mixed in, plus every weekend my family with aunts uncles cousins would go to Oakland Chinatown for yum cha. We usually designate the best Cantonese speaking family member to order for us in Cantonese. Let me just cut to the chase and say that this is the best yum cha restaurant in Toronto and one of the best I have been to in my life! Only go here for brunch because that's when they serve what white people know of as Chinese tapas. The flavors are just right and perfect. The only thing I wish they had were baked BBQ pork buns with the crusty tops which seems to be more common in the west coast in California and Vancouver. Skip the mango pudding which has tapioca pearls in it(gross texture). You must order these following items: Steamed egg yolk buns Steamed bean curd roll Grilled octopus tentacles Beef tripe Green tea lotus seed steamed mochi(on separate special menu) Baked durian Spare ribs steamed (my husband's fave) Sticky is really good too but unlike certain west coast places some people got egg yolks and others did not. Overall best fresh quality Chinese brunch spot with a full house of Cantonese speaking people. Only Chinese people seem to eat here so you know it's authentic. I wouldn't go for dinner though.......make reservations for brunch!!!
