This is a new Ba Le branch and what a great addition to Richmond! People in Richmond can get their banh mi fix without traveling to Vancouver.
The banh mis are as good as the Kingsway location. The sandwich is filled to the brim with yummy meats, fresh veggies and delicious pickles. The bread is toasted just right - crunchy outside and soft on the inside. Really mouthwatering!
They partnered with Hanoi Drip which offers a variety of Vietnamese coffee. They have many interesting flavors like matcha, hojicha, pandan, ube coconut, and of course the famous egg coffee. We tried the matcha and the pandan latte and both were wonderful. Their matcha is sourced from Kyoto Japan. It goes well with the Vietnamese coffee. And the pandan latte had a floral taste which was refreshing. I would try the ube coconut latte next time. Apparently their ube comes from the Philippines.
The owners are cool and friendly. Definitely come check out this place. They do have some parking spots in front...

We visited during lunchtime on a weekend, and while it was busy, we found seats right away. Our food and drinks were also served quickly. Most customers seemed to opt for takeout. We parked in the front, though there seems to be additional parking at the back.

We also noticed they offered Hanoi drip coffee, so we couldn’t resist trying the Egg coffee, Ube coconut latte, and Pandan latte. All three were fantastic. I highly recommend visiting this spot if you...
Read moreBale? more like Badly executed. for a shop that is SPECIALIZED around bahn mi, it was literally one of the worst bahn mi that i ate... first off why are there so many picked veggies? second of all why are they so sour to the point where i cant taste the meat? i pulled the meat apart to try it by itself (from the chicken and the pork "lemongrass" and there wasnt a HINT of lemongrass in it and it was so bland AND dry- how can u mess up BOTH of that. on top of that, they didn't use butter and pate on the chicken lemongrass and pork lemongrass bahn mi, and the og one had such strong picked veggies to the point where u cant even taste the bahn mi. the bread was nice tho, crispy but crust is thin. its disappointing how the pandan dessert was the best thing they sold cuz they weren't the ones...
