Came here originally to try the bánh mì buns, but was pleasantly surprised to discover they also offer specialty coffee — so we decided to try both! We ordered the classic bánh mì bun, classic egg coffee, Vietnamese iced coffee, ube fresh milk, and ube coconut coffee.
The bun was freshly made with a satisfying crunch on the outside and a soft, fluffy interior. The house-made pâté was flavorful and paired nicely with the cold cuts, which were tasty, though I do wish there had been a bit more meat to better balance the other ingredients.
As for the drinks — the egg coffee had a rich, sweet cream on top that gave it a velvety texture. The classic Vietnamese coffee had a well-balanced flavor, not too strong or bitter, with just the right amount of sweetness from the condensed milk. My personal favorite was the ube — the thick, smooth ube cream paired beautifully with either the fresh milk or Vietnamese coffee. Both versions were delicious!
I’d definitely come back when I’m craving Vietnamese coffee and highly recommend giving the ube drinks a try.
Do note that parking is not easy to find as the lots has very limited spaces. Prices are also on the pricey side for...
Read moreSaw the ad on IG a few times and always want to go there to try. Finally got a chance to try it, but it is kinda disappointing.
First, parking is not convenient. It locals on Bridgeport and it's a very busy street. Just a few parking spaces and always full. The shop is small with a couple of tables. Fast food or take out style.
Has lots of choices for the Vietnamese bun, but most are the various styles. Finally I go with the special bun, which should be more likely closed to the traditional one. The taste is average. Not much surprised and it is just okay.
Coffee is better but still, too Canadian and not very Vietnamese alike.
The lady who takes the order is nice but does not smile enough. Try to avoid lunch time because lots of people are buying lunch.
The price is fair. 8.25 to 8.50 for most buns. Coffee is like 6.50 on average.
My feeling is this shop is overrated just because of the effect of...
Read moreWhat a pleasant surprise 😋, but a costly one. With everything being so expensive these days, 8 bucks for coffee is absolutely a luxury. 🤦🏻♀️
Was in the area, so I dropped by. Ordered the salted cream coffee. The salty-ness of the cream perfectly balances out the bitterness of the coffee. The flavour of the coffee is, nonetheless, extremely bold, perfect if you need something strong to wake your senses.
Parking is minimal to near none when they have a line inside. The wait for the coffee is quick, but reaching the cashier to place your order can be a minute.
Expect to be done drinking the coffee, before the ice even melts! They give you half a cup of ice with the coffee for close to 8 bucks. Worth it? Meh. If you want to treat yourself though, go for it! Happy...
