Blenz Coffee — Restaurant in Richmond

I had a truly exceptional experience at this Blenz location. It was my first time here and I will definitely come back. The barista who served me was not only very friendly and polite, but also showed genuine kindness to his coworker who came to pick up packages while I was there. It was heartwarming to see such a positive and supportive work environment.

I ordered a mochachillo and it was expertly prepared. I highly recommend this particular Blenz to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you to this amazing barista for making my visit so memorable. He was the only one working and he managed it very well - there were no stop customers coming in and it was already past 9:30pm and this location closes at 10:00pm. He treated customers as if they are his friends or family member - that’s how friendly he was! It’s definitely rare to encounter people who are this nice and genuine and treats others very well. When he handed beverages over to customers he smiled and said have a good night! His customer service is top notch!!

I walked in this morning to order a decaf american misto with almond milk. The cashier staff simply told me that they did not have almond milk without offering me any other options before I asked for other non dairy alternatives that they had available... Then the staff told me other options they had and I picked oat milk.

I waited at the bar and heard the sound of milk steaming. When the barista handed over the beverage and said it was a americano misto, I asked to confirm if it was decaf. She looked at the cashier who took my order originally and the cashier simply said 'sorry' to the barista. So I waited for the barista to re-make the beverage for me. I did not hear any sound of milk steaming but I thought they probably had steamed oat milk leftover from the first drink (wrong drink) they made for me... Then i looked through the gap of espresso machine and saw the barista simply pouring cold oat milk (instead of straming) into the decaf americano. From previous review looks like this is not the first time this store pulls something like this. Blenz have a promotion "heroes for heroes" for healthcare workers on Nov 6 that is supposed to run all day (this is confirmed with Blenz head office, and this is what was advertised to us), but when I arrived, I was told the promo ends at 5pm. My other friends have gone to the store earlier in the morning before work and same thing they told them it starts at 9 am. If they don't want to participate in the promotion, why even have the promotion advertised in the store. And if the promotion doesn't apply to all stores for all day, Blenz should let us know ahead of time. It doesn't sound like it's the employees fault at the store, it just sounds like the manager or someone higher up there who did not want to give out any free drinks.
