We had been eating at the restaurant a couple of times already, but last night was the first time we ate during the restaurant's busy period (6-7 pm dinner). You can tell how well a restaurant is run by going there during their busy period, how their staff is able to handle the volume.
When we ordered, we also asked for 4 glasses of water. Few minutes went by, so we asked again (this time a different waitress walked by). She said "wait a bit" in Cantonese. Again, a few minutes went by, so we flagged down the same person, and again she said "wait a bit" and walked away. REALLY?? When you have to ask for water 3 times, that is poor service!
One of the waitresses there sounded very bossy and did not crack a smile on her face. In fact, hardly any of the staff there had a smile. Sure, I understand it's busy, but you need to be friendly at ALL TIMES, especially to your paying customers! She was already trying to hurry us out by clearing what empty plates she can see from our small table. Funny, how when we asked for the bill, it came right away!
So because of the lack of customer service, we decided they didn't deserve a tip. So we just paid the bill amount, which was $18, and yes they only accept cash. We left the money on the table, and exited the restaurant. After we had just stepped out for a few seconds, we hear one of the waitresses storming out the door saying that we didn't pay enough. So we gave her what cash we had in our wallet ($2 or so of change) as tip.
It's a pity that we won't be returning to this restaurant again. And we definitely would NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant to anyone! The service was slow, attitude was bad, and to top it all off, they chase you...
Read moreThey do not have their restaurant in order during this pandemic. They have no system at all for taking/picking up orders, and with minimal social distancing inside (20+ people crammed inside at 6:00 pm all fighting to get their orders and pretty much everyone getting frustrated). Huge lineup to the outside just to place an order. Just a matter of time until this restaurant gets shut down from the health dept.
I had placed my order 30 minutes prior to pickup via phone. When it came time to pickup I told them my order was sitting right there, but was rudely told it wasn't ready and to sit down. I then saw my order mistakenly given to another customer but was again rudely told to wait. Minutes later the two front counter staff started arguing with each other about my order, and when I jumped in and told them they messed up my order they offered no solution other than to continue waiting. So I left with no food. Other patrons were equally angry and complaining about waiting over an hour for their food, and dine in patrons were basically rubbing shoulders with all the customers trying to pick up their orders, so it'll be a hotbed for COVID transmission.
The fault is 100% on the restaurant -- the lack or a numbering system for orders (or even something as simple as taking down a name or phone number) causing this kind of chaos is their own doing. Stay far far away until the pandemic is over, if they're still in business by then, otherwise you'll be paying with your sanity or even worse,...
Read moreOrdered the three meats on bbq with rice and daily soup. It was not good. The soy chicken had hairs still on it and tasted really off. The rice was overly mushy and nothing tasted good. The other meats are just okay at best but the portions were small. Flavour-wise it was definitely a huge miss. Only reason i tried here was because HK BBQ Master (the best Chinese BBQ meats hands down) was all sold out by 7:15pm on a Sunday evening. This place was apparently 3.8 stars on Google so I gave it a shot. Was I ever disappointed. It was more like 1.5 stars and that’s being generous. Food quality and taste-wise, it was awful. Kept finding tiny hairs in my food; especially in and around the soy chicken. Couldn’t finish as I didn’t want to gag the entire time. Skip this place for BBQ meats on rice. Haven’t tried dine-in but I would not be coming back if their take-out was like this. Also the lady picking up the phone doesn’t speak English at all and was confused when I asked to order for takeout. She doesn’t seem to be interested in taking an order if you’re not a Chinese speaker. Too bad. Many better options out here in Richmond. Parking was nonexistent as all the stalls were completely full. Skip this place and save your time, money and potentially...
