Eggette House — Restaurant in Richmond

Man, I could not be more disappointed with this place. I only went to try it after seeing sooo many people rav about it.

For starters, they are way way way over priced for what they offer. I ordered their Portuguese Egg Tart Filled Bubble Waffle with their Hot Milk Tea.

The wait also took around 10 minutes, and I was their 3rd customer after they opened.

Their bubble waffle, wasn’t very sweet, which was good. It was nice and crisp on the outside. The filling was meh. There wasn’t wasn’t really much egg taste at all. The most disappointing part was how their Milk Tea was lukewarm at most. The tea flavour was not even close to other places in Richmond. Since I ordered Hot Milk Tea, I had to add the sugar, by myself, but even with that, it was just mediocre. 1/4 into drinking it, I didn’t even want to finish it. It was that bad 👎🏼

I’m starting to wonder if people who rate this place 5/5 have ever had authentic bubble waffle and milk tea anywhere else…

Would I go back? Definitely not. Would I recommend it? Sure, give it a try if you haven’t already done so, but don’t have too much expectations. Was it worth the 14$ I paid?...

Eggette House has the most authentic egg waffles I have had outside of Hong Kong. In addition to their original flavour they also have a huge variety of sweet and savoury flavours to choose from. This small shop is located on the main floor of the Richmond Public Market and they are always busy. Wait times can sometimes be up to an hour, but honestly they are absolutely worth it.

They have a really great ‘Classic Combo’ deal which is one original bubble waffle with their house special milk tea for $7.99. I usually get this combo, but today I was feeling fancy so I went with their signature Portuguese Egg Tart Bubble Waffle which features a crispy exterior with the creamiest, eggy flan interior.
