A Matcha Lover's Paradise - Matcha Cafe Maiko Delights!

If you're a matcha enthusiast like me, then Matcha Cafe Maiko is an absolute must-visit! This delightful cafe has stolen my heart with its incredible array of matcha treats and warm, inviting atmosphere.

From the moment I stepped inside Matcha Cafe Maiko, I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff who were eager to guide me through their menu. Their passion for matcha was evident, and their recommendations were spot on!

Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the matcha treats. Matcha Cafe Maiko offers a wide selection of delectable options that will transport your taste buds to matcha heaven. The matcha soft-serve ice cream was an absolute dream, perfectly creamy and bursting with authentic matcha flavor. It was like a little scoop of paradise! The matcha parfaits were a work of art, beautifully layered with delicate textures and a perfect balance of sweetness. Each spoonful was a delightful journey through layers of matcha-infused bliss.

What impressed me most about Matcha Cafe Maiko was the quality of their ingredients. They source the finest matcha leaves, ensuring that each sip or bite is filled with rich, earthy goodness. The attention to detail in their preparations is truly commendable. Whether it's their matcha lattes, matcha mochi, or matcha-infused baked goods, you can taste the dedication and love they put into crafting each item.

The ambiance of Matcha Cafe Maiko is simply charming. The cozy seating areas and soothing decor create a serene environment, perfect for relaxing with your matcha treat of choice. The staff's warm and friendly nature adds to the overall welcoming atmosphere, making it a place where you can truly unwind and indulge in your matcha passion.

The service at Matcha Cafe Maiko is exceptional. The staff is attentive, efficient, and always ready to assist with any questions or special requests. They take the time to explain each item on the menu, ensuring that you have a memorable experience and find your perfect matcha delight.

I can't praise Matcha Cafe Maiko enough for their commitment to quality and their passion for matcha. They have truly elevated the matcha experience, and I'm grateful to have found such a gem. Whether you're a matcha connoisseur or simply curious about trying something new, Matcha Cafe Maiko is the place to be.

Thank you, Matcha Cafe Maiko, for providing matcha lovers like me with a haven of indulgence. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Warmest...

I’m so happy to wander off from Richmond Public Market and bumped into this matcha cafe! The same brand I tried when I was in Honolulu~

Lineup was short when I was there around 12:30pm on a Saturday, probably still too early while everyone was still at lunch. There was still a bit of a wait because the making of the soft serve parfaits take time and I can see their staff are diligently attending to every order, so I didn’t mind the short wait.

I ordered their Maiko Special with green soft serve without red bean. On the day, they ran out of chestnuts, so they offer to sub it with other toppings. Which I found that is very kind of them cos usually places ran out of certain ingredients would just opt out instead offering something else.

On top of that, I asked to not add red bean as my personal preference, they also insist I choose another topping to sub for the red bean. I was impressed with their service! Very rare to see they offer to sub, cos mostly at other places, if a customer voluntarily ask to opt out certain ingredients that would be it and no sub allow, especially in most Asian restaurants. So here at the small little Japanese front staffed matcha cafe, I’m very happy with their customer service level, truly reminded me of Japan!

In terms of the taste, the green tea soft serve was on the mild side, probably custom to western taste bud, but with the extra green tea powder on top, that boost the green tea flavor much more! So if you love green tea, ask for extra green tea powder on top to intensify your dessert!

My Maiko Special has dark sugar syrup at the bottom giving a dense sweet flavor to the plain corn flakes that only gives crunch to my dessert, which I found the combo is absolutely perfect! In the middle, it has green tea powdered spins cake that is on the dry side meant to scoop with the green tea soft serve to give a light sweet texture of both dry and wet. I found this Maiko Special not only has a solid green tea flavor but also has multi layers of textures in my mouth that every bite can be so different and delicious at the same time! Plus, there are green tea gelatin, technically a crunchier more solid kind of jelly and chewy mochi balls added in the mix, is just amazing! I love every bite of my cup of $12 Maiko Special!

Yes, the Maiko Special is $12, so prepare to savor the flavor but beat the heat that melts your soft serve!

I would definitely try out their coming soon items later...

Came at around 2pm on a Tuesday and there was no line, which was nice. Passed by last Friday though and the line was out the door, but it moved quickly enough. Seating is pretty limited to two tables and a couple of benches, but the nearby park offers ample seating too when the weather is nice. Maiko’s just a couple of blocks from the Skytrain station, in a more secluded area right behind the public market (past Miniso and the halal restaurant on Saba Rd.), but there is street parking available as well.

They don’t have the shaved ice at the moment, so menu is currently limited to their silky soft serve, lattes, floats, and the Maiko Special parfait which has a variety of familiar and unusual toppings (but at $12 is heads above the rest of their menu).

Had the mix soft serve and found it pretty alright. Green tea flavour was smooth and more mellow than other places, which may disappoint matcha enthusiasts who want to really taste those grassy, slightly bitter matcha notes. As far as soft serve goes though, it’s still solid and you can get a variety of toppings like kinako (soybean flour), chestnuts, matcha powder, and even shiromochi to accompany your soft serve. The waffle cone itself was bomb as well - crispy, light, and even has cake pieces at the bottom so your soft serve doesn’t leak out.

Would definitely come back and try their drinks out before passing judgement but I like what I had and wouldn’t mind coming out of my way to get my matcha fix. For commuters, it’s a lot more convenient than going to Tsujiri...
