Great chinese restaurant, peking duck was excellent but not exceptional as well as all the other dishes. I wanted XO sauce but surprisignyl they didnt have any so they gave me refular chili oil. The fish everybody else enjoyed but I did not like the sauce at all as it the mustardy flavour did jot go well, and the beef dish tasted wuite out of of place because it was very rich in truffle flavour but still tasty nevertheless. I also didnt like the fried tofu. The tofu and eggplant was definitely too greasy and the lettuce had too much of a strong flavour so it didnt compliment the filling that well. I think it should have been a more subtle flavour. The atmosphere was very nice and the rables were very well set up. We were seated in a small room and there was only one server for three huge tables which was a downside because due to how busy he was he never gave us my refill on water and we had to ask him again. There should have been more servers. The food cane quickly and he was very talkative and quite nice, calling one of us “handsome” twice which was quite flattering. Dont have much else on how the service could have been improved. Dessert was complimentery (red bean soup) but didnt try any. Overall quite underwhelming per the food and the fact that I left the restaurant still very hungry as there wasnt enough food for me but still very memorable and delicious and nice experience. Still prefer...
Read moreGoogle indicates I have left a simple review 5 years ago of 4 stars. I am downgrading this to 2 stars as of today.
The food was decent, and reasonably priced, but the service was utter failure. This place might be good for takeout, but I wouldn't come back ever again for dine in
When we were ordering food, 2 out of the 4 items we wanted to ordered weren't available. We were a little displeased (hopefully understandably), so we suggested maybe they should change their menu or put like a sticker over the unavailable menu items. The female manager, said in a very sarcastic way "yes, we should change the entire menu just for you"
After ordering our food, the food was delivered to a small table on the side. Presumably it was delivered by the kitchen staff and the job of putting food on table (and dividing portions, for soup and Peking duck) is done by the waiters/managers. The food was literally left there for 10+ minutes with no one serving us
To add insult to injury, the soup that came was not the one we ordered
We wanted to give our feedback to someone higher up but we're told that there does not exist any higher ups so I guess here we are?
Having a brief look it doesn't seem like the owner read Google reviews but I'm leaving one anyway. I really hope some higher up can read this because I feel they actually have decent food, but their staff really needs to be either...
Read moreOver rated ! Most food we ordered are luke warm ! Not because this is a "Chiu Chow" Restaurant that is famous for there cold dishes like cold crab and braised duck or tofu! The soup fried rice and noodle dish are barely warm ! Worst of all, they come literally 30 minutes apart on a half emptied Thursday evening. To top it off, the black suit manager has an attitude when we asked to have our wine opened kowning there will be a corkage fee which we don't even Care how much they will charge. My sister asked to have 4 glasses and have the wine opened. I think she asks for a wine opener or corkscrew just to be friendly. The managerr says they don't have wine opener ! At first, we thought he tried to be funny but when he finally opening the wine Witho ut a smile then we know he wasn't joking just to name a few that we did not enjoy a bit feeling if we had ordered shark fin or king crabs like the manager has suggested we might have different treatment !My advice to this restaurant is they will never be rated a genuine fine dining among the locals even their customers are mostly Chinese or they'd rather prefer the mainland Chinese as they are the big spenders consuming their luxurious dishes! Our two teenagers did not enjoy the food at all as they are nothing special according to their foodie standard even though we spent $230 on some of their so- called...
