Me and my family went to this restaurant on Christmas Day (yes, they do open on Christmas), and generally a good place to come dine in. Service - great service. Greeted and seated us and handed our menu. The waitress was polite and wanted to make sure we were ready. I realized the waitress seemed to have had difficulty jotting down my order when I spoke English. Suggest to encourage employees a place to learn English if they desire to do so. I also suggest the waitress come more often to fill our tea, see if everything is okay, etc. as the time we went there it was not busy.
Surroundings - generally well organized and modern. Lots of posters showcasing foods they serve as well.
Washrooms - generally clean. The men's bathroom had no soap when I entered at the time, through.
Food - great food. Tasty, well prepared, and came to our table at a reasonable time. Also a great selection of foods to choose from. Would suggest the tomato soup (as appetizer) to be served a little hotter (for food safety reasons).
I suggest the establishment to encourage customers to bring their own reusable take-out containers and straws. They can encourage people by giving them a small discount to a customer if they ask for no straws that come with the drinks, as an example. If I would recommend coming here? Yes. Anyone looking for a light snack or a meal should give this place a go. Note that the restaurant only accepts cash as payment. Parking is available. Transit accessible via Alderbridge Way, Garden City Road,...
Read moreThis restaurant was recommended by one of my coworkers. I didn't have a chance to try the restaurant itself because of the incorrect business hour - I found online (Google as well as through the restaurant's Facebook page) - says: Mon/Thurs 11am-3pm, wed/fri/sat/sun open 11am-7pm, Tues Off.
I dont live in Richmond and I hardly travel there. I planned to order takeout for my bday and checked the hours of operation the day before going there.
On that day, I called the restaurant sever times ~3:05pm on Saturday Sept 25 wanting to place an order for pickup - no one answered the phone (I tried several times because I thought they were just too busy to pick up the phone). Thus, I went there in person. To my surprise the restaurant was closed (but we could still see employees inside the restaurant).
I messaged the restaurant through FB wanting to inform them of the incorrect hours of operation - I didn't want others to experience the same disappointment as I did.
However, the restaurant did not take it seriously. They said they were not able to set the hours because they have a break in between (they had a post back in June with their incorrect hours of operation). It has been 2 days and they still did not update their actual hours of operation (just create a post or upload a picture of their actual hours of operation isn't that hard).
It seems like customer's time is not really that...
Read moreAfter a long and tiring Saturday, my friends and I decided to dine at Peaches Café. As a group, we ordered a variety of dishes, including the baked pork chop rice, fried rice noodles with beef, and a few other delightful items from their menu. Peaches is, without a doubt, one of the finest Hong Kong-style cha chaan tengs in the city. Each dish was packed with flavour, and the unmistakable “wok hei” – that smoky aroma from the searing heat of the wok – elevated the experience. The drinks were equally enjoyable, perfectly complementing the meal.
What truly stood out, though, was the outstanding service. The waitresses that evening were exceptionally kind, creating a wonderfully relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. One of the staff with a big smile was particularly attentive, frequently checking on us to ensure we were comfortable and well looked after. The entire team was patient, professional, and clearly well-trained.
With fantastic food and exceptional service, Peaches Café is a true gem. I highly recommend giving it a try if you have the chance – you won’t be...
