Tang Vietnamese Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Richmond

My husband and I love our Friday date nights cause this is our chance to try different places. I came across this one on my search. This location is located in Richmond and surrounded by different restaurants in the area and this location is almost at the end of the restaurant area.

Parking in this area is limited in the front but there is a parking lot shared at the back of the restaurant, it has around 12 or so spots.

I booked our table the day of our dine-in and when we got there they couldn't find my reservation. I get it I booked last minute and they mentioned that they are pretty busy as it is Friday. We were seated at a corner almost across the bar. The staff failed to ask for our vaccination card, but they did ask the people after us.

Something I noticed is that I couldn't quite get their attention when we were ready to order, I was facing their bar and even waving my hand but not one came over. After 10minutes, I almost got up just to get them to take my order. We want to try new things so we got the #27 Tang BBQ set with vermicelli, Beef rid Banh hoi, house special pho, and R67 grilled lemongrass chicken combo with rice.

The arrival of the food from the time we give our order was quite fast but the problem was that the table was tiny for our order and the server squeezed everything all at once. I would next time is for them to bring out the appetizer first and then bring the food out slowly. I get it their busy.

Overall, the taste-wise is just like the any other Vietnamese place, I wasn't very impressed. I know other places that have a better service and taste of food. My husband loved their spring roll as it is full of meat. The service is okay, there were a lot of them but none of them cared to ask how we are doing with our plate. We went here yesterday with my family as we are on a hunt for the best Vietnamese Chicken Wings and to our luck we finally found it! Not only it is of great size, it is crunchy, crispy and the chicken wing in itself is flavorful. It is good for the price and the amount of garlic, green onions and some spice are perfect. I love very sour dipping sauce and they also have this. ( sorry no photo but it is the same photos taken from previous reviews before us- this proves consistency with their food). Not only this, they have all the other menu items that we see here and there from other Vietnamese restaurants that we had been at ( we had been to at least 10 restaurants in the Lower Vancouver area. It is unfortunate to give 1 star as I am a regular customer here and love the food and service, I’ve always referred friends here and brought friends to eat here and always mention the good pho and chicken wings.

I had the chance to bring my family (parents and siblings) here on December 27 as I told them this is the best place to get pho in Richmond.

However when we went to the restaurant this time it was the complete opposite due to this employee as she was very disrespectful to me and family, she ignored me as she saw me out up my hand and I had eye contact with her and she deliberately ignored me and kept walking. I also asked for more water and tea to which she completely forgot until we told the other employee who gave it to us immediately. She also completed missed my order so while the whole family was eating I did not get mine until 15mins later than the rest of the my family.

She also never smiled or went to the table to ask us if we need anything and didn’t check up on us. I had to grab the siracha from the front myself because she never checked in on our table. Also our 2 orders of 3 pc appetizer order took 1 hour to arrive as it only came until the very end when we finished eating everything else.

I never have left a bad review ever but I am so mad and disappointed about the experience as we truly received the worst service and unfortunately I will not be eating here anymore and referring anyone. I love the food but the one service experience with this employee, she ruined this place for me and will be going to other places. To those reading please take your business elsewhere it is not worth it to be disrespected...
