Never experienced this kind of rude behavior at any other establishments in Victoria. I ordered one hot and one cold Taro milk tea. This is the drink that I had previously tried from this place and it always tasted good. But, this time both the drinks had some sort of residue at the bottom and the drinks were totally undrinkable because of that residue. When I told this to the staff, the girl who was taking orders was still very understanding and said that they will replace the drink, but when she told the other girl who was making the drinks inside, she started making faces and started talking in a rude tone even though I was talking very politely while trying to explain what was wrong with the drinks. She just kept saying that it's taro mesh while making faces. I have had this drink earlier but this residue was never there. There is a way of conveying your message to the customer and that ethical polite behavior is what everyone should display, unless the customer itself is acting rude which in my case, I was very polite. They did replace the drinks and I appreciate that but the tone was not at all acceptable. Businesses that run only because of the customers should teach their employees to be respectful to the customer. I have also worked in the food service industry and was never rude to even a single customer. I was someone who had previously recommended this bubble tea place to many of my friends because of the choice of drinks they have, but just because of the rude behavior by that one person, now I won't recommend this...
Read moreI’ve always loved Ding Tea but after my last experience, I would be hesitant to order again. I happen to be in the parking lot and I wasn’t quite sure how they’re taking orders at this time so I thought that my safest bet was to make a skip order and pay on my phone - contactless! Yes, I definitely should have come in to ask but I thought I was doing the SAFEST option for these times. However, it popped up that it would take 45 mins to get my order but I was already at Ding Tea. I noticed other customers walking up and ordering through the door and I assumed I could explain my situation and perhaps they could bump my order up since I’ve paid and I’m here; means less work later right?? NO. They said there’s nothing they could do to cancel my order and that I had to wait the 45 mins for my drinks. With no way to cancel my order on my end, I am still waiting for my drinks and have watched 3 customers walk up, order, pay and walk away with their drinks. Only 1 skip the dishes employee has come to pick up orders so I know my mess up shouldn’t have impacted any other customer or orders. I understand that it is a busy and hard time, however, I’ve worked customer service jobs and really felt I could have been...
Read moreI have gone to ding tea several times in the past as it is the closest bubble tea place. Unfortunately I had a very bad experience today. When trying to put the straw through the top which I've done several times, my bubble tea cup spontaneously broke and the tea inside got all over my clothes and about half of it drained out. I knew the quality of cups ding tea uses was very poor so I assumed the employees would understand. I went right back inside and asked "Could you make me a new one please?" The employee took my bubble tea and threw it out but then asked me to pay for a new one. I asked them to give back my bubble tea that I handed over as I believe they had misunderstood. But the employee had already thrown it away!! At all other establishments where my take out has been spoiled within the vicinity of the restaurant they have made me a new drink or dish. Noodlebox and Starbucks both close by will make you a new drink/dish free of charge. For this reason I am extremely disappointed in the service at ding tea and will not be returning unless I hear the service...
