Since I first heard the news that Gyrosa was opening in Royal Oak Iāve been anxiously waiting because Iād heard great things from family and friends about their original location but donāt get to that area of town very often.
I finally tried it and was quite impressed with the experience. My first time in I decided to dine-in and the customer service was super friendly and helpful as I made my selection. After ordering and paying I had a seat to wait and the food was being brought to my table within a few minutes. I ordered the chicken souvlaki plate with fries and Greek salad and an extra skewer of chicken. The food arrived and was very attractively plated. They say you eat with your eyes first and this is definitely true. The flavours and freshness and quality of the food was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch.
Fast forward a few days and I find myself running around doing errands and decided to stop in to grab some food to go. I ordered the same chicken souvlaki plate but switched up the sides (choice of 2) and also ordered some calamari as well. Again I was quite impressed with the speed at which the food is prepared considering how fresh and delicious it is. Well done Gyrosa!
If you want some fresh and tasty Greek food in a nice clean atmosphere then check out Gyrosa. Royal Oak has been wishing a long time for some really...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't give many reviews. There was a time when restaurants really cared about their customers. Recently that seems to be a thing of the past. I've eaten a lot of Greek food over the years. I tried Gyrosa a couple of months ago. While the food was decent, I wasn't over the top with part of it. I didn't go back right away. I went back today, and I was telling the cashier about my previous meal. And I said it was good but a minor complaint. One of the cooks and another cashier started listening in on the conversation. Again I am telling them it was good food. I even said I appreciated receiving more than 2 olives with my greek salad last time. What I received this time was a Chicken Souvlaki exactly how I liked it and greek salad with 7 olives. The Calamari was really good both times. BTW, it was as good of a chicken Souvlaki as I've ever had. They did not charge me for the Souvlaki. I ask myself why would someone open up a restaurant in Royal Oak with 23 eating estabilshments within 2 blocks. The reason is that they care about what they do. What more would you want? Cheers!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust had our first experience at Gyrosa and weāll be back! The service (helpful, friendly & welcoming) and food (fresh, flavourful & plentiful) were excellent. Our table of 4 split a sharing-sized calamari (not pictured) that was light & crispy and came with a large container of tzatziki. For mains, we went with their build-a-box (or wrap, if you prefer). Pick a protein, add 2 sides. My chicken souvlaki skewer was great, the pitas were grilled & tasty. Really appreciated getting to pick my sides (from rice, fries, feta-fries, kale caesarā¦). There were smaller options too (protein & a single side) and olive oil cake (which Iāll try next time). Appreciated the staff helping us to order and stopping by our table to check on us (even tho the set-up is counter-ordering), they take care of you like itās full service. I see why this place is busy....
