Khmer Angkor Express — Restaurant in Sainte-Julie

I had the unfortunate situation to try eating there for lunch with my wife. It was a massive catastrophe. We waited 20 min to get the menu. And then we waited 50min without having anything, not even our entree. Then we went to ask what is happening , the server said they gave our entree to the table behind us , who didn’t say a single thing . Then the cooker came and brought our plates directly without any entree and letting us know. And then he says no rice any more and then gives us our plates with something else we didn’t order. The cooker then said if you really want rice , you need to wait 30min. But we waited more than 1h already. So really , no apologies , and trying to justify himself and not even offering anything.

They position themselves as having Vietnamese, Cambodian AND Thai cuisine, which is never a good sign IMHO.

The meal I had (imperial shrimp) was fine. Taste are subtle and follow the genre. On the other hand, my son had General Tao chicken. This what completely different than what one expect. Instead of chicken cubes that a lightly coated, this were breast strips with a thick breading (still nice white meat though). Instead of being sauteed in a nice spicy caramel sauce, they have been smothered with a generic fruity sauce after plating.

J’étais très emballé par les bons commentaires sur ce restaurant. Il est vrai de dire que la nourriture était bonne. Par contre, le service fut tellement absent que ceci nous a laissé sur une note amère.

Nous avons eu aucune accueil, bonjour ou quoi que ce soit. Nous avons du interpeller la serveuse pour commander, ainsi que pour faire ouvrir la bouteille de vin. Suite à l’attente….une mauvaise commande m’a été apporté, aucun désolé. Une fois mon repas reçu, la serveuse n’est jamais revenu nous voir, nous n’avons pas réussis à l’interpeller pour avoir de l’eau. Suite au repas, elle n’est pas venu nous voir pour desservir la table. J’ai du me lever pour demander un plat pour apporter. Malgré l’attente subséquente, nous avons du nous lever pour demander l’addition. Nous n’avons pas pu avoir le dessert et café inclus dans la table d’hôte….. aucun merci ni au revoir. Bref, mieux servi à la Belle province, un peu décevant pour une sortie au restaurant en amoureux. Dommage! Nous n’étions pas les seuls, car à notre arrivée, la table voisine nommait qu’ils ont du attendre 1h30 pour être servi et ils ont du faire deux rappels pour avoir leur dessert et café… Je ne commente jamais les restaurants sur Google mais cette fois ci en valait la peine,...
