We bought take out the other night. It was supposed to be 3 single meals. We exchanged some of the items that were in the singles for something else. It came to $72 with tip. I though that was for the 3 meals. We got home and took the food out and saw they had missed a whole meal. We had ordered it but it wasn't there! We ended up 1 meal short. We were ticked to say the least. We were all really disappointed in the quality of the food we did get. Prawns that were too over battered and thrown in a box with the almond chicken. 2 very small pieces. We were supposed to get 2 almond chicken but there was only 1. The pork was cut into big pieces instead of bite size. The other prawns were thrown in a bag so were really greasy by the time we got it home. The egg rolls were $7.50 for 2 and they were gross. Really really over battered and greasy. The only thing we did like was the ginger beef. We were supposed to get a chop suey, 3 chicken with rice, only got 2 and they didn't put any condiments in the bag for the chicken or prawns. I called the manager right away who wasn't overly friendly when I explained they'd missed a meal. She said they had only given us 2 because that's what we had ordered and with the switches we made for the meals cost alot extra. We thought it would be a small amount. It was 3 dollars each. Our fault for not checking first. I told the manager we now had someone without a meal and food missing. I asked if she could just credit the meal to us for next time. She reluctantly said yes. We also only got the bank machine receipt and I told her we wanted the bill showing the amounts we'd paid, what we'd ordered. I told her I needed that copy for tax purposes. I asked her to please email it to me. Said she would send a copy that night. She didnt. I called her the next day and asked again for her to send it. She said she had sent it but to the wrong address. So I gave it to her again. I could tell she was trying to mislead me because I was very clear pronouncing it. I dont believe it was sent to the wrong address as it's 2 days now, we gave it to her again and we're still waiting for it. It should have been in the box with the food as most restaurants do. If id known it wasn't in there I would have asked before I left. The food has never been great at Yans. We stopped ordering from them because it was crappy. But apparently it came under new management so we decided to give it another try . The first time it was great. The second time, mediocre, and this time terrible. If the food isnt brought up to par I dont think we'll eat...

I really hope they were just having a off night because my family and I have never tasted Chinese food this bad. I ordered take out and I have to say I have never tasted a meal so horrible. My tofu was as hard as shoe leather (and strangely it was cut like french fries?) it was so tough I couldn't even chew it! Plus it was sitting in water! It was supposed to come with carrots, and I counted 2 barely visible and tiny carrots shreds, that was it! The sauces were basically water. Either so watered down, or our dishes were actual sitting in a centimeter of hot water, it was difficult to tell what the intention was here. The overly sweet and sour chicken dish was also awful. The chicken was either over cooked or it was very old. The chicken chow mein had a tiny pieces of chicken on top of the noodles, which I have never seen prepared like that before, and the dish was so bland we had to cover it with soy sauce just to eat it. Barely any chicken on this dish and mainly noodles. The last dish was the expensive vegetarian dish (which is just vegetables), and although the vegetables were well cooked, it was also bland and sitting in a watery (sauce?). The staff I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful, but who is cooking in that place? It's horrible! I don't understand the good reviews?? Overpriced for what it is as well. We tried to eat our expensive take out dinner, but it was inedible and we will be contacting them for...

I loveeeeee me some good Chinese!!! And this hots the spot. The food is so fresh and you can tell its cooked with love. I dislike soggy, over cooked veggies, and their veggies are crispy, fresh, and beautiful in colour. The black bean crispy noodles are bomb, and Winnie whipped up some cream cheese and crab wontons. You guys…I went to heaven and came back they were so good. Had to come back so I can taste it again and again and again!! 😍❤️😍❤️ But literally HEAVEN! Its a blessing to have a CLEAN place in Salmon Arm to eat. I will come here over and over and over again. If you are a new customer reading reviews and debating whether you should try it, I encourage you to try it! I bet you will come back here and write a review about how great it is. Especially compared to other restaurants in Salmon Arm. Go!! You won’t be...

This seems to a common issue with alot of Chinese food restaurants...sweetnsour pork..the pork is over cooked and dry and stringy. I chewed and chewed AND CHEWED the pork pieces and ended up spitting it out as it was so dry and stringy. Found out the reason is because the pork is reheated over and over, causing it to become tough and stringy. Pork should be tender to bite into and chew without the need to spit it out..not pleasant. I think you should seriously look into how you can do better!! ALSO...PLEASE UPDATE your website. Prices, I later found out they were old Prices, back about 3 or 4 years ago. How are customers expected to order properly without correct prices. Your website needs some TLC!!!

First-time visit last night, and we decided to go takeout for our dinner. The restaurant looks clean inside, and plenty of parking space outside. It was such a nice location to get to. The staffs at the counter were friendly and pleasant; however, apparently, they were too busy, slightly understaffed and got totally slammed and overwhelmed. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t say I’m happy for our dinner. The flavuor of our dishes is about 1/3 not good, either too plain or too salty. I understand that’s probably not the best night they have. I’m glad I came to this restaurant and tried it myself. Thanks for the effort to make our dinner. Cheers.

"I visited Yan's Restaurant in Salmon Arm, a Chinese restaurant managed by non-Chinese staff. The restaurant was bustling with a high volume of take-away orders, leading to slow service due to the focus on deliveries. After consulting with my Chinese friend, I learned that Yan's is better suited for buffet-style dining for groups; otherwise, it's just average. Interestingly, my Korean friends preferred Bamboo Panda over Yan's, citing a better experience there during lunch. I would rate Yan's 3 stars, with 2 stars deducted for the slow à la carte service."
