Burger Factory — Restaurant in Sarnia

First time we ordered was for our company lunch. When we received our food it was stone cold. We called to complain, and they didn’t give us response… or say anything in their defence or try to compensate in anyway. We microwaved it and it was OK , not worth the amount of $ we paid, I was told. . ( was unaware of the cost because our company paid)

I decided to give-it another try. Trying to support local new business and all…i ordered dinner to treat myself ….fries were cold, stale, the burger was put together messy, I can say the onion rings were amazing. They had seven + people behind the counter, Who appeared to have no idea what was going on, or what they were supposed to be doing. The person who took my order asked for my order several times because they could comprehend what I was asking for (which was just a juicy Lucy, fries, onion rings…not a combo ) another employee came and took my order. As I was waiting for my order, there were several complaints coming up to the front counter. Someone who was sitting at a table in the restaurant section, with several people, came up to the counter right away to try to resolve the complaints. I understand that they’re just getting started and there’s gonna be a few bugs to work out in the system, but they need to do a little better. Great concept , great advertising, poor service. I normally never leave negative reviews. I usually just leave it alone and don't go back. However I feel compelled to share this experience.

Went here anticipating a smash burger. Did not get a real smash burger. Seems to be just using the name for marketing like other restaurants. However the food was decent in flavour.

But the main issue, is my wife and I both got food poisoning shortly after finishing our meals. 100% from this restaurant. Have a feeling it might have been the shakes, but could be the burger.

As a fellow business owner I say this not as an attack, accidents happen. Just hopefully will get the owners attention in case there is an issue that needs to be resolved. We got food today on Aug 2nd. I dearly hope there isn't a food handling issue or bad product from a supplier. Hopefully noone else has gotten sick. We usually have pretty strong stomachs and never get sick from eating out so this was a surprise to us.

And maybe hopefully somewhere will make real smash burgers. Not sure if it's a chain thing or just not made correctly here. But Patties should be thin and crisped up all over, especially the edges to seal the juices in.

Unfortunately...

The bathroom is filthy! The toilet is caked in urine and I can imagine faeces too. You can’t sit down without sitting in someone else’s urine. The sink and mirror look like they haven’t been sanitized in ages, this is horrible considering this is where you clean your hands (I’m questioning the cooks’ hands at this point). The door when you walk in has hand prints all over it. The tables needed to be wiped down. If their establishment is this filthy, I can only imagine what their kitchen and cookware are like.

I decided, hey, let’s give the food a chance, maybe I’m being harsh. I order a crispy chicken combo with fries and a milkshake. $21.97 for one person. I sit for 5 minutes, then the lady comes out to me and said, “sorry, I forgot we don’t have crispy chicken anymore. Can I make you something else?” I say no, I want a refund. She takes me to the register and tries to convince me again if I want something else. I repeat myself that I don’t, I want a refund. She has to call the manager to refund me and they give me cash when I used my card. Overall, extremely bad experience and HORRIBLE cleanliness. Might as well be...
