"Serendipitous" is the most concise word I can use to express my absolute delight in dining at the Legacy. My wife and I celebrated our fiftieth anniversary there and were overwhelmed by the graciousness and attentiveness of our hosts. The entire staff and especially the maître d' were extremely accommodating in ensuring that the various dietary concerns were dealt with. We ordered the Rack of Lamb and were amazed at the skillful preparation of this. The plating was magnificent and that alone would have been enough to impress me. The actual meal was divine. I'm an Aussie and have more than my share of lamb, but this was fit for the gods of Olympus! I was stunned what the chef did with something as lowly as carrots and asparagus! The entire team of "Hosts" did an incredible job, an ever-increasingly difficult thing to do these days in light of Covid protocols, which were met in every way without being obtrusive. The overall atmosphere of the Legacy was formal without being stuffy and was most comfortable. When one is made to feel welcome and special by all of the restaurant team, how could one not feel comfortable! Thanks ever so much for your graciousness, professionalism and especially the...

An Unforgettable 40th Anniversary Celebration at Legacy

We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at Legacy, and the experience was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The elegant dining room created the perfect ambiance for our special evening, and the entire staff made us feel truly welcomed and celebrated.

The service throughout the evening was attentive, friendly, and heartfelt. Every course was thoughtfully prepared to our preferences—full of flavor, beautifully presented, and a true reflection of the skill and passion of the chef and kitchen team.

To our surprise and delight, Legacy gifted us with a beautiful dessert to mark our anniversary, a sweet and thoughtful touch that made the evening even more meaningful. It was not only delicious but a genuine expression of care and celebration.

We are so grateful for the entire team at Legacy for making this milestone so memorable. Their warmth, professionalism, and culinary excellence made this a night we’ll never forget. Highly recommended for anyone celebrating life’s...

*UPDATE We returned for another dinner...and were not disappointed! From the greeting to our professional server to the final goodbye...a most enjoyable evening out. As expected the food did not disappoint. Hubby had the bruschetta and salmon...me the caprase and seafood pasta...and of course wine! So nice to find an establishment who's menu is hand crafted (vs all Sysco!).

Finally a restaurant with a great menu, ambiance and professional service in Sarnia. So why only 4 stars? First the hostess that greeted us with "you guys". So inappropriate for a more elegant establishment. Second, as an older couple that adhered to the dress code of business casual, wanting to revel in the dining experience...other loud, young couples in beach attire were seated around us. Both of these disappointments can be attributed to the training of the hostess. As someone with about 30 years experience in the service business I always question why the youngest/untrained are given the position that sets the tone for the dining experience? Of course we'll give it another try but will be more vocal as to where...

Sarnia may not top the charts as a foodie city, but it's the perfect place to find a hidden gem. And Legacy is that gem. Excellent food prepared with careful attention to detail and served by staff who bring joy to your table. If you sit down and start wondering whether you have been transported to Toronto, you'll be right: the owner left the hassles of the metropolis for a quieter corner of the world. Sarnia, you are SO lucky!! The other thing the owner brought along is his diverse taste in wine and his honest appreciation for the world class wines coming out of the Niagara Escarpment region. Legacy is all of that. Right around the corner from the Sarnia marinas. Do not miss the chance to enjoy this Toronto-class restaurant tucked away near the Blue Water. Have to give a shout out to the kitchen for being very accommodating of dietary needs. They'll take care of you!

My husband went here for the first time on valentines Day. we were thrilled to hear of this place since we usually have to drive into London for fine dining. He had the escargot baked brie - which was so good! The sauce they paired with it was so wonderfully peppery! I had the salmon with black tiger shrimp and forbidden rice. I have to say the salmon was beautifully seared and had a lovely crunch to it! However, I did find oil used to be a bit generous. My husband had the bison steak. This was very tasty and a real treat as he had never had bison before! It was perfectly rare inside. The atmosphere was a little loud for our liking, but I loved it overall, such a beautiful space! Lastly, our server was very attentive, I loved his energy.

Not only was the food delicious the atmosphere and staff were amazing! I had a shrimp and scallop pasta and it was the best seafood pasta I have ever had! Scallops and shrimp were large and so flavourful. My husband had the special bacon wrapped filet with truffle mash potatoes which was also excellent. Our server was very attentive and even brought us a delicious dessert for our anniversary celebration of chocolate and raspberry ice cream, best I’ve ever had. 100% recommend will definitely be back next time we are visiting Sarnia
